I certainly want more women in government. However, if you think a predominantly female government would run better just because they are women, you are nuts. #1 They are humans first...it would end up being very similar. #2 Have you ever been around a bunch of Dance moms, soccer moms, etc? The gossip is amazing. And the grudges....lifetime.brianlux said:tempo_n_groove said:

Yeah, I'll likely be voting for only women for the rest of my life, except for special circumstances
If the candidate is a woman and the best then by all means vote for them. They say men are from Mars, Women are form Venus, the point being that men and women think differently. I think that's a pretty fair and true generalization. That being said, if two candidates were running for office, one a man and one a woman, and they were evenly matched in qualifications, I would vote for the woman because I would like to see how things would run in a more predominately female run government. I doubt they could screw things up worse than men have, but maybe. Let's find out. It's also worth noting that there are a lot of women out there that I would not want to see represent The Year of the Woman. Like, for example, the woman in the Facebook video on a bus wearing sunglasses and screaming at the Hispanics, spewing all kinds of racist B.S. Or the likes of Sarah Palin. No, let's not go there. a) I am nuts, regardless, but you knew that already, Cincy. a) I am nuts, regardless, but you knew that already, Cincy. b) I really don't know how different a female dominated government would differ from our current male dominant set up but I would be happy to find out.c) As for gossiping Mom's- women, like men, come in all types. I know the gossipy soccer mom type only too well and I don't find they best represent their gender any more than your typical macho male chauvinist represents our gender well. But a Senate full of classy, bright, tough women like Elizabeth Warren... oh yeah! Now that would be something great! b) I really don't know how different a female dominated government would differ from our current male dominant set up but I would be happy to find out.c) As for gossiping Mom's- women, like men, come in all types. I said I would vote for only women, not that only women should govern. My vote is to help balance out a massive divide in representation. Once it reached 50/50 or so, I would see no need to only vote for womencincybearcat said:

So, just to be totally clear - you're saying that every single politician is corrupt?my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0

Any body who can vote themselves a raise in a job that is supported by taxpayers are corrupt, that also applies to raising taxes. Politicians salaries and taxes should be voted on by direct democracy...maybe you need to be reminded we ARE the employer, not the fucking politicians...these corrupt bastards need to ask the people more often. And don't kid yourself these politicians are laughing at you all the way to the bank ...oftenreading said:Meltdown99 said:

So, just to be totally clear - you're saying that every single politician is corrupt?I think what you're saying, Meltdown, generally is true although I would say that, because there are over a half million elected officials in the U.S., I would think there have to be some politicians that are not corrupt. But then follow my logic and tell me where it fails: A great many people believe politicians are corrupt and yet they go out and vote these corrupt people into office. If we are the employer, and we are hiring these officials by voting them in, then is it not the responsibility of the voting public that we have corrupt politicians? And we keep doing this over and over again. We must be really fucking stupid employers!"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

I'm just not feeling it...I am really not, government no longer works for the people...but thats just me, I'm very cynical ... I spent 25 years in maintenance at a school board ... trust me, there are efficiencies to be had ... one school they spent over 5 million in new plumbing and heating system only to close the school 3 years later, old schools don't sell well ... this shit is common with government.brianlux said:Meltdown99 said:

Brian, that was just one example of poor fiscal responsibilities...I could write a book of wasted money. One school, the principle spent in the thousands for cable for the weight room ... only to cancel cable a year later. It's ridiculous.brianlux said:

That's absurd. I have several family members and friends who are/have been in municipal and provincial politics and I know how hard they have worked, seven days a week, for pay that isn't as much as they would get in the private sector, accepting totally unreasonable expectations and comments from people like you. Of course some politicians are corrupt; not all.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0
