Saw 2 Amazing shows in Vegas on friday & Saturday.  Setlists varied quite a bit.

They opened with Somewhat Damaged on Saturday. Gary Numan joined them for “Metal” in the encore.  They did a great Joy Division cover as well.

We were at Wed & Fri.  Sad that we missed Sat because we booked our flights before it was announced.  Wed was killer but Somewhat Damaged is my favorite NIN song, so of course they saved it.  Still a great time.  Can't wait for October.

How many shows are you seeing in October?

Just the 3 in Chicago for now, but looking at some others.  I would have done more if it wasn't for the ticket situation, but I think tickets will be reasonable by then.

We have tickets for 2 nights at the Hollywood Palladium....they are doing 6 shows there, so we may grab tickets to one more show if the tickets fall below face value.

Those are tempting at the end of the tour. We saw them at Echoplex for the Wave Goodbye run in 2009. 

I was at 3 of the 4 Los Angeles Wave Goodbye shows.....the Echoplex was the only one I missed.

NIN really give PJ a run for their money in regards to being my favorite live band.

The first time I saw NIN is still my favorite concert ever.

When was that?

I saw them on the Fragile tour and it was good, but I wasn't blown away, maybe because of the arena setting.

But then I saw the two Chicago shows on the With Teeth theater tour and was blown away into a full-on obsession.  23 shows later, I will go anywhere for them.

I've only seen them twice - that show and again on the Tension 2013 tour at State College.  Would love nothing more than to catch them this fall but it's just not in the cards.

I feel for ya.  It's odd that they're playing multiple shows in limited cities and skipping some huge markets.  No complaints in Chicago though.

In the fall tour, is it a 2-night show kinda thing where you have to catch both to get the full experience? (I think U2 did something like that recently if I recall?)  If I could get by with only catching one, I might be able to pull off one of the DC shows as long as tickets aren't super ridiculous. Timing is more the issue than anything, I definitely can't do both nights.

That site is essentially every live NIN recording in circulation.  He did an amazing job compiling everything and still adds new shows.  It's mostly audience but lucky for you, yours is one of the few true SBD recordings.

I would say one show is always better than none.  However, setlists may be more varied with the multiple nights on the fall tour, so I wouldn't go in expecting to hear one deep cut (similar to going to a PJ show and hanging your hopes on one non-hit).

Funny story about that Va Beach show, too.  I caught a really bad sinus infection/head cold about a month prior to that.  Even after the cold/sinuses cleared up, I ended up with a lagging inner ear infection and could barely hear out of my right ear.  For weeks I had that feeling like my ear needed to pop, like I had a ball of cotton stuck in there.  I took antibiotics, I rinsed with peroxide on a daily basis, even went so far as to try cone therapy to get ANYTHING to work.  Nothing did. Just a damn clogged right ear 24/7 for a month straight.  Go see Nine Inch Nails and wouldn't you believe during Terrible Lie, my ear canal finally opened up! It took me a second to realize what had happened.  The show got instantaneously louder and I was like, what's with the sound guy?  Nope, it was just my hearing coming back!
