Pink Floyd, 1994, for the Division Bell tour.
I was old for my first concert - I was in grade 12. My parents wouldn't let me go when I was younger than that, it was really unfair and stupid (and uncharacteristic - my parents weren't that strict. I think it was because they had some weird fantasy in their heads about what concerts were like, and it was really really bad, lol). Especially considering how much I missed at that particular time, including Pearl Jam. :frowning: However, it made it so my first concert was Pink fuckin' Floyd, which is pretty rad!! To this day, so many concerts later, it is still the most spectacular show I've ever seen. Their "presentation" can't be beat!
I waited in line for many hours for those tix, and we were about 6 people away from reaching the TM booth when it sold out. Oh man, what a bummer.... And then they announced the second show! Yay!

Same here! Pink Floyd at Three Rivers Stadium. Still one of the best shows i ever saw. Me and a buddy waited in line for tickets at a local grocery store one morning and ended up with extremely high upperdeckers.

HORDE Festival 1994 - Black Crowes, Blues Traveler, Ziggy Marley, and others.

I was 17.  It was everything my parents were concerned about, and everything I hoped for. Lots of hippies, weirdos, and substances. Chris Robinson was a total mess. Smoked too much crappy weed, had my first go with mushrooms and ended up sleeping in my car in a truck stop.  At the time I thought it was very rock n roll.

    Whitesnake and Great White
Made it to the rail and then got smooshed and whisked out.  Was 16, small, it was blistering hot, and I had consumed far too many beers

I took a breather and headed back in.  It was a memorable experience.

    I still love Whitesnake.

EDIT --- I was 14, it was 1988.  I went with my older brothers and his friends and they fed me beer.  Looked up the date and damn...I was a bad kid!

    July 1993 Finsbury Park, London

Neil Young with Booker T & The MGs
    Pearl Jam
    James
    Teenage Fanclub
    4 Non Blondes

all for the princely sum of £22.50!!!

So, I guess technically the first band I saw live would be 4 Non Blondes... but the day got a whole lot better after that!

Technically Black Crowes would be my first then, because they opened for Neil Young too, in 2001 :)
