I think it's funny too, although Dimitris does seem to know a lot!HughFreakingDillon said:
altnation constantly uses him as their source of "major updates". it's comical.PJNB said:
Hope Dimi is right but I thought he was just going off of the Livenation Italy report that it was still on as planned. Pretty pathetic Alternativenation ran with it as a "Major Update" sourcing Dimi.Chrisilein said:

Yes he is sad with chris stuff but this got nothing to do with it LOLSeafra said:Look I'm not a head doctor or a throat doctor for that matter but common sense prevails...and why I say I'm not a head doctor it's pretty obvious why Ed of the last year ( although I know they are workaholic s) but of the last year Ed is pretty much pushing himself ( ie death of Chris maybe)..look the point is pushing hard has dire consequences..

I think that there is too much drama and I am not referring just to your post.prl said:I don't know anything about what Eddie does or does not do to protect his voice before, during of after touring, so this is merely my opinion on what I think he should do:
A singer's voice is his instrument and he should treat it like that. He shouldn't drink or smoke as it negatively influences his voice, damaging it sooner than what would naturally happen. It actually shocked me to see him joke around with that in London night 1 when he said that he didn't know why his voice was like that after all the syrup he was having (refering to wine... he actually handled the next bottle to the crowd).
Like a guitar player will rehearse the songs before the tour starts, the singer should also take measures to protect and prepare his voice for the upcoming tour. And as he ages, his voice will naturally require more care, more rest time. He should have the appropriate drinks and do exercises (like James Hetfield does as someone mentioned earlier). Getting a singing coach would probably be a good option at this stage.
I don't know what caused this. Maybe he's just sick or maybe he blew his voice because he was careless. I know it was the last thing he wanted to happen as it affected not only the band and the show promoter but also a lot of fans who, like myself, travelled to see that show and won't be able to be back for the replacement show. I hope he's conscious of the importance of taking care of his voice. Otherwise he'll be doing a lot of surfing but not a lot of singing.
He has the freedom to do whatever he likes with his voice as much as we have the freedom to go or not go to one of Pearl Jam's shows.
I can hear too that his voice is getting worst over the years but I choose to attend their shows so I feel I am not entilted to tell him what to do or not do with his voice.
With love from Greece
Well, I wrote that with the assumption that they want to continue touring and they want to provide quality shows (at least that's what their prices suggest). Of course everyone has the freedom to do whatever they want, Eddie may want to blow out his voice and I might want to go see in him sing in sign language. That's not the point.
It's not a matter of drama (well, to a certain extent it is, because we all want to see the band playing for many more years to come) or entitlement. We're just sharing our opinions on what we think is wrong and how it could be better. Nothing more than that.0 -
This is such a shit situation for ticketholders for the cancelled London show .......PJ are understandably gonna wait and see how the next few shows go with Eds voice before committing to the London show! Agree?.........therefore i dont think re-scheduled date is gonna be announced for a week or so at best , leaving folk like me who already forked out a fortune on flights, trains , hotels ,etc ........at the mercy of short notice airline and hotel booking prices to be fleeced again0

Ps. for the record I hold absolutely no grudges whatsoever about cancelled show he obviously tried very hard right up to last minute to make it happen........just a really unfortunate situation to be left inDogboy said:This is such a shit situation for ticketholders for the cancelled London show .......PJ are understandably gonna wait and see how the next few shows go with Eds voice before committing to the London show! Currently in London having travelled for the gig from Dublin and going to Padova and Rome next week, bricking it. But he can’t help it. Billions of happy thoughts his way.Conjack76 said:Seems pretty serious ...... Selfishly hoping he'll be ok for Rome this day next week (I'm travelling from Dublin) - I really feel for all those who have traveled to London for tonight's show and cannot make the re-scheduled gig

This is the first time they have canceled a show due to Ed's voice in the 27 years they have been a band. I think he knows how to handle his voice. You may not like it how it has aged but oh well.0

I travelled to London for both nights from Italy. Obviously gutted for how things went for the second one. Eddie was really struggling so I'm convinced they took the best decision in order to be able to keep up the tour. By the way, once again he demonstrared to be an incredible performer even in bad shape. I'm going to see them also in Milan and Padova. The lack of official communications is preoccupating me but I really hope everything will work out well. Just like others said...health is the main thing.
P.S. I think that ticket refunds for thise who will not be able to make the postponed date is just the right thing to do.2006: Turin - Pistoia| 2010: Venice | 2012: Berlin | 2014: Milan - Trieste | 2018: London - Milan - Padua | 2022: Zurich0 -
i don't think they can't not give folk refunds. They've changed the terms and conditions of the ticket. i don't know of any event that has had the date changed where refunds were not offered.P.S. I think that ticket refunds for thise who will not be able to make the postponed date is just the right thing to do.

I hope the 10C think very carefully about how they are going to handle refunds / rescheduling.
I'm already peeved that I was put in a position where I spent $450 on London tickets because I wanted 10C admission enough to enter the lottery for both shows (and subsequently 'won' both nights). Then peeved that there was no mechanism in place to pass unwanted tickets back to fans who really wanted them, without having to physically collect and handover the wristbands. Peeved that the 2nd night was postponed after I'd already started , and paid for, travelling and, finally, peeved that despite the early admission promise, 10C members still had to queue for an hour before being let in.
I think it'll be the end of my 10C membership if no refunds are offered for 10C tickets where people can't make the rescheduled date....I'm really not sure my 10C tickets gave me much advantage over just buying GA tickets as soon as they went on general sale.
On a positive note, now that my petty rant is over, Monday's London show was fabulous, despite Ed not being able to belt out some of the big stuff. I hardly noticed he was struggling, the atmosphere kind of softened any issues as well. Hope Ed is resting his voice long enough to prevent damage.Post edited by odgeuk on0 -
I will be shocked if 10C doesn't offer refunds. That would be so wrong, and surely they know that. I think people just need to be patient and wait for the refund instructions... If they never come, I hope you all raise a big stink about it.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
It happens.
-fans are allowed to vent. Vacations are really expensive and hard to plan. Disappointment is to be expected. A lot of folks probably cant make it to the new date. Sucks.
-the band probably feels like crap and probably no one more than Eddie. Just unfortunate all the way around.

A comment about refunds should have been made at the same time as the cancellation notice or shortly thereafter.
Making fans twist in the wind for days is a stunningly minor league move.

Humble plea for the makeup show to be on the weekend, please

May I suggest July 20 or 22? 0 -
Well, as there hasn't been a cancellation notice yet I can understand there's also not yet a comment about refunds.Lerxst1992 said:A comment about refunds should have been made at the same time as the cancellation notice or shortly thereafter.

I guess they first want to have certainty about the rescheduled concert before communicating anything about refunds.0 -
