Just to give this perspective. There was a shooting at a middle school in Noblesville, IN on Friday. As of now there are no deaths. The teacher that was shot (who tackled the shooter) is out of the hospital and doing well. The little girl that was shot is still in the hospital in stable condition.
The day after the shooting, a local gun shop had an NRA sign up tent set up in their parking lot. The REPUBLICAN Mayor (I think he's on his third term) went to the gun store to ask them to please take down the tent given the circumstances. They kicked him out of the store.

Okay, so I am now for the banning of all guns. There has to be a way for homeowners to feel safe though. Perhaps a stun gun or some other type of weapon that absolutely can't be used for a mass shooting.
If you want to go hunting, then you can go through a background check, and rent a gun for the hunting trip.
I haven't thought through all the scenarios, but this is beyond ridiculous at this point. To those on this board that want to take no action, you are disturbed individuals and you may not even know it. It was like when I was collecting Pearl Jam vinyl and trying to get every color, I didn't realize at the time how stupid that was.
Like PJsoul said earlier, the fix won't come for several generations, but we need to start now. Like with climate change, we can't change climate today or tomorrow, but we can make changes that can impact 50 years from now.
. Yes, we are way too far gone for that and that’s why I mock those that suggest a complete gun ban.
Fact is, most of the time they convince the masses to go along with them... its easier to manipulate your citizens then fight them...
Iraq invasion & occupation, shock & awe, torture, black rendition sites, detentioners held for years without charge at Guantanomo, at least 1 million dead.... that was, and is, fucking horrific and evil... disgusting... maybe the most "tyrannical" thing done by any country in my lifetime... and a ton of the masses cheered and supported it while waving flags... some still think it was fine and support it.... all based on lies, propaganda, and manipulation... your guns dont mean shit buddy, it's your brain they are going after
Happy Memorial Day weekend

Fucking moron:

Does anyone know what kind of porn Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) is watching?
Whatever it is, the 67-year-old Black, who is running for governor of Tennessee, said it’s a “big part” of what is driving the spike in school shootings.
During a meeting last week with local pastors, Black raised the issue of gun violence in schools and why it keeps happening.
“Pornography,” she said.
“It’s available on the shelf when you walk in the grocery store. Yeah, you have to reach up to get it, but there’s pornography there,” she continued. “All of this is available without parental guidance. I think that is a big part of the root cause.”
Here’s an audio of her remarks, which she made during a listening session with ministers at Safe Harbor of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Black didn’t clarify what it is about porn that she thinks is leading to school massacres. Her congressional spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.Beyond naughty movies, Black said school shootings are on the rise because of the “deterioration of the family,” mental illness and violent movies. There have been 23 shootings of some type this year on the campuses of K-12 schools or colleges. Of those at the K-12 schools, nine involved a gun being discharged and people being injured or killed, including a Friday shooting in Indiana school that left a teacher and a student injured.Contrary to Black’s take, experts say poor social, economic and cultural conditions are primary drivers of gun violence. Enacting policies to improve those conditions for people, along with reducing access to firearms, would go a long way in stemming mass shootings, they say. These actions are “far more effective than all the police, doctors and hospitals combined, and intervening only after tragedies have struck,” said professors James Gilligan of New York University and Bandy Lee of Yale University, both experts on violence.
