I also don't recall any comments about the former GOP speaker of the house having sex with children either....

    How odd?

Let me edit what I said just a bit. :) . It's not a one side or the other political issue. All sides should be condemning bad behavior....because...it's BAD.

Update: Three hours after the publication of this story (for the NewYorker), Schneiderman resigned from his position. “While these allegations are unrelated to my professional conduct or the operations of the office, they will effectively prevent me from leading the office’s work at this critical time,” he said in a statement. “I therefore resign my office, effective at the close of business on May 8, 2018.”

    so......

he resigned. as he should have.

the republican governor of my state, missouri, has been accused of doing terrible things to a woman. he will not resign. nor will our republican state congress impeach. they called a special session to "talk about" impeachment. his base is still with him in polls. his trial started today.

why do democrats resign, and republicans not resign?

because to republicans it is about holding on to power and projecting strength to the stupids in their base. it is not about doing the right thing.

this is the epitomy of the failures of the 2 party system. rally around your guy, demand resignations from the guy that's not on your team. this works, until the next guy is on your team. i am so fucking sick of all of it.

And he resigned immediately- not waiting to see the full fallout from the damaging story.

The rest of your post has legitimacy in that more often than not, it seems republicans hold steadfast to their positions regardless of what damning stories are revealed about them (their supporters seem willing to overlook even some of the most grotesque discretions).

Wait....are you suggesting that this walking, talking, grandstanding, piece of excrement resigned because he was 'doing the right thing?'

I'm not touching the rest of your post, just the part that throws it out there that the fact that he resigned has anything to do with his political affiliation  -- I dont think this is a partisan issue.
This is about a total piece of shit abusing a series of women and getting called out.
He isn't resigning because it is right.
He resigned to try and duck out of the light and stay out of jail / public opinion hell.
This excuse for a man clearly has no idea what the 'right thing' is, or ever has been.

    He beats women.

I hope he gets hit by a train and dragged a few miles.

I didn’t read that way , the right thing to do is resign unlike so many Republicans who haven’t cough cough Orange one remember Moore he stayed in the race even with how many women coming forward to accuse him , Orange bafoon has mistreated women just as bad and he got voted into the WH ! It can’t be denied that the perception is that Republicans just say fuck you and your charges against me prove me wrong , by the way I agree anyone abusing any human be it women man or child should be dragged like you stated including this president fuck him and all abusers ..

I'm waiting  for the Christian conservative  republicans to come out against this guy. To yell and scream and stamp their feet about how bad a person he is. But yet  say NOTHING about the Liar/cheater-in-Chief.
