I just finished reading a psychology research paper on fake news which I was required to do for my university subject. Very, very interesting.
Here is the link to it, you can download it. It's 43 pages long. If you don't really understand all the experimental and statistical jargon just read the discussion section and/or the abstract.
*note it is not peer-reviewed, I couldn't find a peer-reviewed copy but nonetheless an interesting and informative read

"This suggests that factors that undermine the legitimacy of traditional news media may exacerbate the problem of inaccurate political beliefs among Trump supporters, who engaged in less analytic thinking and were overall less able to discern fake from real news (regardless of the news’ political valence). "
 Any surprise there. lol?

Yeah some of the findings should come at no surprise but there are some interesting findings such as what you just quoted.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140

 I'll still take a look.
I asked my lecturer yesterday and she said the peer-review process takes quite some time.
