I loved that band. only got to see them twice. once at Lollapalooza and then opening for A Perfect Circle.

both times they stole the show.  The Philly scene has been crazy for 15 years now. I bet you have seen some awesome bands at small clubs.

    Without PJ:

    Glen Hansard
    Richard Thompson
    Paul Weller

I saw Richard Thompson open for Glen Hansard in Brooklyn a few years ago. Glen's great live, but I think even he would acknowledge that Richard Thompson should have been the main act.

With PJ: Given the Ohana Fest discussion on The Porch, I'd say Arcade Fire playing 90 minutes or so as an opener for a nice, 3+ hour PJ set sounds just about perfect. To make it a three-act line-up, maybe open with Bryan Ferry -- and Jeff and Mike could come out and play with his band.

Some people dont like him, thats ok. I would surely think there is at least one song you like of his, no? His catoloug is extensive. How about anything from some of his side projects you find appealing?

I should have clarified! As a performer he's terrible. I wouldn't disrespect his ability to write or his impact on music.

Yeah i hear that alot from people. I had a guy a few months ago tell me he actually walked out of a Dylan concert. SAD! Lol. I actually have to admit ive only seen him once, last year, and i loved it. Still doing his thing after all these years. What in paticular about his performing dont you like? I also havent seen alot of videos from older performances, like when he was in his prime. Im not a musician so i dont notice certain technical  things that someone who is might. Is there something in paticular in his performances like his voice, technical skill, you dont like?

  • I walked out on Bob too lol.

He made no connection to the crowd- never even looked at us. He was lifeless. The selection was awful (never even recognized the first five or six songs and that's about when I had enough).

I should state that out of approximately 120 live shows... his was the only one I left during the main set. I don't make a habit of leaving shows (outside of occasionally getting in front of the mob before the encore is finished).
