It's time Europe gets a full album!

It definitely feels like the time Dimi. Riot Act would be righteous anywhere between Prague-Berlin. The 15 year anniversary just passed late last year. Arc would be a nice tribute in either Krakow/Berlin for the 9 fallen, being the closest tour stops to Denmark. And no I don’t think the album shows are totally random. There’s definitely patterns and trends in the setlists and you can get a general feel for when an album show might be coming.
I personally love the album shows and I think a large part of the fan base does as well. If you think any PJ show would be a “snoozefest”, then maybe you’re at the wrong show. I just know I love when they get out of the box. That’s what keeps many fans and myself coming back for more. Vitalogy would be cool too, but maybe it’s better suited for the states? I could see them playing it in Seattle.
Can’t Keep- Great way to eaze into a show, not played nearly enough
Save You- Killer
LBC- One of my favorite songs
Cropduster- It’s all upside down
Ghost- For Dimi!
I Am Mine- One of the first songs I heard by the band, very meaningful
Thumbing My Way- I like it more and more every time I hear it
You Are- Will always remind me of a spiritual place I’ll never be able to get back to
Get Right- Would be an awesome bustout, it’s been away for too long
Green Disease- Couldn’t be more relevant today, greedy bastards
Help Help- Couldn’t be more relevant today, deceptive bastards
Bu$hleaguer- Things have seemed to have gotten even worse
1/2 Full- Makes me want to get out in nature
Arc- Nice meditation
All or None- So raw, it’s all or none

That’s 15 songs that the average person at those shows does not remember (or even know) Horrible idea. Half of Riot Act is pretty good, the rest not so muchPost edited by mrk2 on225xxx - 6/28/00, 10/20/01, 10/22/01, 9/11/06, 9/22/06, 9/23/06, 6/18/07, 6/26/07, 8/15/09, 6/25/10, 6/30/10, 7/4/12, 7/5/12, 7/7/12, 7/10/12, 6/26/14, 6/28/14, 7/3/18, 7/5/180

I hear your point but they've played Binaural in its entirety before and that isn't their most well known album, either.mrk2 said:That’s 15 songs that the average person at those shows does not remember (or even know) Horrible idea. Half of Riot Act is pretty good, the rest not so much

As much as I appreciated being at the Binaural show in Toronto I gotta admit that the crowd was pretty dead throughout the performance of most of the album (at least this was my perspective from my 10c Reserved seats...maybe it seemed different in GA).JimmyV said:

I’d bet the crowd was pretty dead for Benaroya, the Mansfield acoustic experiment, and Gorge 05’ as well. Does that make them bad shows? No. Crowd participation plays a role, but there’s so many more factors that lead to the success of a show. It’s magic when you can take 10k-30k to an introspective place and make them shut up for an hour or two. How many times has an audience clapped off time with a song, been annoying as hell, and even the band is like wtf.rummy said:

Riot act is way too long for a full album performance in Europe. There is absolutely nothing even resembling a "hit" amongs those mostly mid-tempo 15 songs. Even the most patient ones will start feeling annoyed after 10 songs, and then they're hit with "Help Help" with no end in sight yet.
I would rather have even the most standard Animal, Why Go, Corduroy, Even Flow, Better Man, Given To Fly, Daughter... basic set any day.225xxx - 6/28/00, 10/20/01, 10/22/01, 9/11/06, 9/22/06, 9/23/06, 6/18/07, 6/26/07, 8/15/09, 6/25/10, 6/30/10, 7/4/12, 7/5/12, 7/7/12, 7/10/12, 6/26/14, 6/28/14, 7/3/18, 7/5/180 -

I understand where you are coming from but, from where I was standing (in reserved seating), the crowd didn't really seem to be in an introspective place. They seemed bored.SmallestOceans said:

To be clear, I enjoyed it. Never thought I'd witness great songs like Parting Ways and Rival.0

At the very least, the three singles from RA should go over pretty well.mrk2 said:Riot act is way too long for a full album performance in Europe. I'll be happy with more songs from Binaural and Riot Act being played - I'm not sure a full Riot Act would go down well, as much as I love this album. Binaural might be a somewhat safer choice, among those two.
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream...
If I knew where it was I would take you there.0 -
