Three incidents, almost 600 casualties.  Hard to justify that.

The SCOTUS has already decided on this matter.  Limiting your access to any weapon of your choosing does not impair your rights.

That is what is often forgot, the walking wounded who didn't die and are discarded when these incidents are discussed and reviewed. This has been said before, but extrapolate out the actual direct impact (I'm not even talking about indirect) of these events and you are talking about thousands of people. Every person who was in that school, club, venue or area where the incident happened went through the worst day of their life until they were able to reunite, make contact or confirm their loved one wasn't among the dead. Then consider everyone one who didn't reunite or make contact and later found out their loved one was dead or injured. Do those people matter to any of you who scoff at the number of dead like it's a piece of lifeless shit so you can still own a weapon you neither need nor can justify usage of besides protection from government tyranny and sport shooting?

You're right McGruff, removing those weapons from the streets will not stop gun violence or murder, but it will make it harder and less capable of being carried out in such a quick and efficient (scary word when you consider the context) manner. Do we not want to be a society that can advance past pure primal desire to shoot and kill if we want? If we can't take it upon ourselves to change an unnecessary part of our existence for the better, then we are not the sentient beings we proclaim to be.

I don't hear anyone demanding that the 1st amendment not be infringed upon when certain words and statements were made criminal and illegal.
