Nirvana, Pearl Jam & More Featured on 2018 Rock Hall DVD Release
March 13, 2018Larry Busacca / Mike Coppola, Getty ImagesThe Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is releasing a DVD box set highlighting the most memorable live performances from their epic induction ceremonies between 2010 and 2017.
According to Billboard, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: In Concert will be released on April 24, as a set with four DVDs and two Blu-rays comprised of 53 live performances. Among the rock highlights are Nirvana’s 2014 performance with Lorde, Joan Jett, Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent), who all filled in for the late Kurt Cobain, as well as memorable sets from Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Deep Purple, Rush and many more.
There will also be five individual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: In Concert digital albums released the same day. Each release covers two induction ceremonies with performances from Alice Cooper, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Stooges, among others.
While Rage Against The Machine, Judas Priest, Radiohead and the MC5 were all eligible for induction into the Rock Hall this year none made the cut. This year’s installation features Bon Jovi, the Cars, Dire Straits, the Moody Blues, Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. The event takes place on April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio and will be filmed by HBO and broadcast at a later date.
