    Just got it to play on my iPhone. I like the recording “sound” more than the song but I love new music!  Sounds raw again and not overproduced.
    I'm like an opening band for your mom.

    someone mentioned a typewriter return bell, which made the drumming sound like typing to me, and I thought a also heard a rattle-y sound like when you move the typewriter back to it's start to begin the next line of typing. could be totally wrong, but i imagine the song as the musical manifestation of ev banging this out angrily on a typewriter.

    It doesn't have to be anti-e for me, rather a musician or band that is writing about current events in a meaningful way.  Music was such an important part of the Vietnam era, yet we've never been able to sustain that type ongoing, cultural pressure.  And we pay for it with a pliant, lethargic citizenry.

    For those who didn't like it to start, I felt the same on the first listen. But, remember Pearl Jam isn't bubble gum or candy. It's vegetables and super fruits; as in the more you ingest, the better you feel. So, give a yourself a steady diet, and see what you think. I've had it on repeat for about an hour, and all that emotional, mental, spiritual nutrition is setting in
