we got some new info folks!!! alternative nation reports:

Pearl Jam expert dimitrispearljam has posted on the Ten Club forums in response to rumors of an Australian tour.

“everybody knows, that ill blow the roof of this forum when i know is gonna happen.”

In another thread about a possible Australian tour, a fan named gardenzootopian bumped the thread that hadn’t had a post since 2012.

“bring on an aussie tour and new album, hopefully no festival gigs, only full PJ only gigs wanted…. surprise side shows at small venues also welcome whether it be eddie solo or all of em.”

dimitrispearljam posted a GIF of Tina Fey with her lips sealed in response. dimitrispearljam first broke news that Pearl Jam were planning a 2018 North American stadium tour and summer 2018 European tour on the Ten Club boards.

LOL I couldn't bring myself to click on this, but I saw this on Twitter the other night....fresh off the press at Alternative Nation:

"Pearl Jam Fans Get 'Fucked' By Ticketmaster: 'This Was A Disaster' "

Just when you think he's moved onto something else (i.e. the drama with Smashing Pumpkins).....I can only imagine where the content for this article came from. Sounds like someone's been trolling the forum again!

so after these 7 stadium shows sell out do you think there will be additional shows to fill in the gaps?

I don't think so. I'm always hoping for more shows but I think they would have a PR nightmare on their hands if they urged people to make travel plans and then announced more shows in between the ballparks.

I’m really hoping New Zealand or Australia are in the plans next year. Convinced wife to let us take a family vacation down there if they tour. I just hope it’s announced sooner than later.

I guess the real question is have they been recording new music for an album? Ed showing up at Mike's fundraiser last week means he was in Seattle. That could mean nothing or it could mean they were rehearsing for South America...or it could mean they were in the studio. If an album us coming there could be shows in the fall. We'll see.

I think its too late for anything else this year.  My guess is a normal arena tour next spring to support a new album. Im just speculating of course.

  • Beale Street Music Festival lineup announces in the morning. I realize how low the chances are of PJ being on the list but I can at least go to bed tonight dreaming of a PJ or EV headlining slot.

I still think there is a chance for a few arena shows. Just a few; Philly, Cleveland (HOFshow), San Francisco, Portland Oregon. Why not right. No source, just wishful thinking and a bit of spider sense for Philly.

Better chance that Radiohead will announce a run of 2018 US arena dates out of the blue.

Why can't they play Outside Lands on August 10th before Missoula? They need 3-6 headliners for that thing.

This local journalist puts an 80% chance that they're playing OSL. I hope he's right but logistically, it makes no sense.

Logistically...since OSL has house stage/lights/PA already they could truck down only what they needed and play 8/11, with the stadium setup going to Missoula. It's certainly doable, and not it's as if a bunch of us in the Bay Area are going to go to Missoula on a Monday if no PJ OSL date. In fact, an OSL appearance would help to explain why Missoula is on a Monday and not Sunday. Didn't that strike anyone as weird? (Though not as weird as having a rain date/day off for a venue with a roof.)
Is this where the show list goes?

    11-26-91 / 8-2-92 / 3-15-94 / 7-9-95 / 7-11-95 / 8-29-98 / 9-1-00 / 10-25-03
    10-23-04 / 10-22-06 / 10-9-09 / 10-23-10 / 10-3-12 / 7-9-13 / 10-21-13
    11-24-13 / 11-26-13 / 10-17-14 / 10-20-14 / 10-25-14 / 4-8-16 / 4-9-16
     4-28-16 / 4-29-16 / 8-20-16 / 8-22-16 / 8-10-18 / 8-18-18 / 8-20-18

since the stadium shows are only once a month spread over the summer, it can be that grueling tour wise. what are the odds that the fenway shows kick off a fall north america leg? wouldnt shock me at all. they love the north east and would be perfect to drop an album.  2013 was on sale in july.

Backspacer was released on September 20, 2009. That year there was a run of random August dates before the first leg of the tour supporting the album kicked off in Seattle on September 21st.

Lightning Bolt was released on October 15, 2013. That year saw a few South American dates in the spring followed by London, ON and Wrigley in July. The first leg of the Lightning Bolt tour kicked off in Pittsburgh on October 11th.

My belief is that the dates we have already for 2018 are probably all the dates they are playing, with the possible exception of an additional festival or two. But, the possibility does exist for a new album and tour in the fall. The model is there. And before anybody says, "Yeah but Eddie said no more tours in the fall!" remember that they took 2017 off entirely and...

...Eddie says a lot of things.
