    There are many in Illinois that retire with $100k pensions.

    There are many in Illinois that retire with $100k pensions.
    That must be because they have a strong union which got them a great union contract.

    So how will it get paid?  See in a perfect world that liability is funded.  But in Illinois, which has nearly $125B in total liabilities long term it isn't.

    So unless you have money trees, that can somehow raise capital without reducing the value of the existing, it won't get paid.

    I don’t think banning the AR15 would change anything. There are many similar guns. Also, a valid argument from friends is that they want to own a gun similar to what the government has possession of.     How do you feel about a pistol grip rifle? My feel is that style of stock allows for easier shooting from many different positions: a trade off where shooting rapidly with versatility is enhanced (killing many things in close contact).

    I guess I'm saying I don't like it given its purpose by design. I think Power spoke to the assault rifle and its usefulness against wild pigs. Is the pistol grip stock an invaluable feature for hunters?

    To your point about the AR15 rifle: it has many undesirable and dangerous features that make it something people should concern themselves over.
    Was in Vegas celebrating my wife's birthday, so didn't this response.
    I have no problem with a pistol grip for forward grip. If someone wants a military looking rifle to target shoot with I don't have a problem with that either. I would argue they those features have virtually zero practical impact on a gun. If you disagree and think that makes it easier to kills dozens of people, then fixed magazines and magazine limits, which I would be for, would really solve that problem anyway.

    What dangerous and undesirable features are you referring to that people should be concerned about? In my opinion, the only real difference between an assault rifle and hundreds of others is the capability of reloading large capacity magazines. Any other feature is insignificant, and in many cases just cosmetic.

    No one I've seen has raised this as a viable strategy.  I strongly support the end of sales of the AR/semi weapon, but have not once mentioned a gun turn in program.
