Wow, you people near Boston and Chicago who've had to wait a whole two years to see the band...

...will finally get another chance! Can you believe it, after all this time, the boys are coming back!
Meanwhile, those of us in the S.F. Bay Area who can't afford in time or money to travel to another state to see the band, and haven't seen them in five years (and counting) will just look at the setlist in envy yet again. Sure glad I'm paying to be in the 10 club so I can buy good seats when they come back here in 2024!

I wish you the best in 2024. In the meantime, I can consider moving to Mississippi if that will make you feel any better. Seriously though, start saving and planning for a trip somewhere next spring to see them.

I've only had 2 hometown shows out of the 103 I've seen.  I don't know what it would be like seeing the band in your hometown or region a lot. I probably would be bored of seeing them only in one location.

They've played 3 shows in Chicago in the last 8 years. It's not exactly a residency.

I think were immune from having done so much travelling.  If you're from Vancouver Island you love concerts you grow to love road trips.  It's 4 hours for driving, waiting, ferry, driving to Vancouver.  5 hours to Seattle.  8 hours to the Gorge.   You get used it to it :)

I can understand frustration, not everyone has the pocket change to get on a plane, get a hotel etc.  I like that clearly something a bit more extensive is on the horizon for fall of 2018 or all of 2019.  For better or worse, Pearl Jam has chosen a touring strategy that fits their sensibilities as human beings.  I wish it were easy for everyone to see them at a whim, but that is not how it really has even been.  Beyond 2000, 2003 and 2006, you have always really had to put a little skin in the game to see Pearl Jam.
