Unfortunately, the best seats are boxes that longtime members and season ticket holders would get. Hard to get great seats there, unless you pay ALOT if money, or get lucky someone has an extra for their box.

That sounds like Ravinia here in Chicago. I'd rather they avoid places like that. But I'd love them to play LA...don't care what venue!
I’ve seen Pearl Jam at the Greek Theatre, Irvine Meadows, Forum, Universal Ampitheater, and Sports Arena in the LA area. The Forum is the best for seating a large crowd and sounds great. Temple of the Dog played the Forum and it was a fantastic show. I would rather they never play Staples Center or the Anaheim Pond, as the sound is not so great at those venues. Hollywood Bowl is iconic, having hosted the Doors, Beatles, etc. but like I said, getting tickets up close is VERY difficult.

My understanding is that there are several shows a year where the venue is rented and that seats (including boxes) are subject to the particular ticketing distribution for the specific show. I've bought tickets in boxes for KOL, Tom Petty and Motley Crue without much issue through Ticketmaster. All of those shows were considered "rentals" and it said such on the HB web site.
The venue itself is very unique, but I've always found the sound to be less than stellar. Much prefer the renovated Forum over most of the larger LA venues.
The best concert venue in Los Angeles hands down, was the Universal/Gibson Amphitheatre. It was a sad day when it closed to make room for Harry Potter World at Universal Studios.

+1 I liked Irvine Meadows, too. Except for getting out of the parking lot. The Wiltern is also great, but too small for PJ.
Hollywood Bowl is a nightmare to get in and out of. Not to mention the back would likely be a lot of casual fans talking over the band . Forum is definitely the venue for them in LA. Good sound, easy in and out, cool vibe. Arena
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Wouldn't mind seeing PJ at the Ace. Gorgeous venue. Guess I like 'em small?
