    And yep, I'm a German one ;)
Thank you hedonist for the Talking Heads reminder, made me jump on YT and watch a couple of the videos... I really enjoy that!
I also stumbled over the next one. Sadly I missed this show in Cologne. Love the sound and energy.

RYME, so nice to hear that you are visiting Europe regularly! I never was in Lithuania before, but I know that your wife was born in a beautiful country. I looked Palanga up and found out that it's not too far away from where my granddad was born in 1911 in East Prussia. :)
So since maybe 15 years my dad tries to find out more about his family tree but everything got lost during the war there. My parents even tried to find his grandparents house but everything changed since he was a little boy. All we know is that our name and ancestors are coming from France. My grandpa already died in 1995 so dad started way too late to search for his roots!
Oh and about the booze... people from the east are badass! I mean pepper vodka? :o  That alone is crazy already but yeah they drink it like water right... haha... and a pint glass is half a Liter right?! OMG...

So how are you dealing with the weather in Wisconsin right now? Must be freaking cold there! :s

    Man, I love Wolfmother.

Good choice here. Thanks for the clip.

On my first trip to Lithuania in 2006, just one day after a (Pearl Jam concert, during the Avocado Tour, in the Great Chicago United Center) also my first taste of My Morning Jacket, What a great start to that vacation!
My wife's cousins took us to see this Island Castle in Lithuania, if you ever get a chance to go, go and see it.  It's outstanding.

Whoops I should never leave the lounge car without dropping a song.
My first Pearl Jam show was October 8th 2000 Alpine Valley East Troy Wisconsin labeled as the Ice Bowl concert.  27 degrees Fahrenheit at Showtime I think it was.  That's -2.7 Celsius.

  • I know I've posted this before somewhere in these parts. I was at this show and had my mind blown by this AIC and Gretchen Wilson cover of Barracuda. It's the best live video out there for my liking (it was freaking loud). For those that might have missed it... or for those that want to see a freaking rocker:

I remember listening to that song while driving through Texas up north for hours in 1995... great memories... It was the first time I visited the US. What I didn't know then - you would come up being a life changing time for me :)
I was busy lately, but I so like to come back and listen to the songs here and then jump on YT and listen to stuff I haven't listen to for years... or find something great or new out of a sudden!!! I'm way more open to all kind of music nowadays.

Temperatures are around 5° Celsius here the last days, that's ok around 0° during the nights. Man I'm happy it doesn't get that cold here in Germany.. we are blessed with the Gulf Stream that keeps the temperatures up! You Americans are getting a lot of hard times there lately...

About your paintings, I'm not really sure if they are from Bavaria :) but it's definitely from the south though. Just cool to see such old paintings!
That castle in Lithuania is well known! Lithuania is called the pearl of the Baltic countries and Trakai and it's National Park must be an amazing place to visit! Sadly I have never been there yet.

Got lost in music for a while now. Nearly forgot to come back and finish this here...
Sorry for putting this video up here again, but damn... I just love that band! Would make me happy if someone would listen till the end of it! :)

And I just love The Highwaymen :)

In a couple of months, I shall have the pleasure of attending a show at a small local iconic venue where each of the H-men (among other legends) have performed individually over the years.

Think I'm gonna cozy up to some of their tunes this weekend.

Cool what venue is it that you speak of?
& Who are you going to see there?
If you're into the Highwaymen, this is the best thing ever.

And this album version of it is what it is, is actually a better version than the one I posted earlier.  Reggie Young's lead guitar is much more prominent on this album version.  It must have been the take that made the album.
    And Just a wonderful Album.
The road goes on forever and the party never ends.

And here's my second favorite song on this particular Highwaymen album.
Called Death and Hell by Johnny Cash.

Cats can fly from nine stories high and pigs can see the wind.
You can't beat those lyrics. B)

One more song why not. I'm trying to bump Trump from the top spot on the moving train conversation.  Replace it with Lounge Car Talk.
This Here song is by Kris Kristofferson from about 1982. It's called
    Here Comes That Rainbow Again.
Such a beautiful song listen to it and feel good about life again.
This song is about humans being good to humans.  Something we all could use more of.
