Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, The Cars and Nina Simone are in the Class of 2018!!

Kind of surprised that Radiohead did not make it on their first year of eligibility.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Radiohead got enough votes and were set to go in until they announced tour dates near and on the date of the induction ceremony.

Solid list. Soundgarden would’ve been a nice gesture, but too soon to put any kind of pressure on the other members and friends of Cornell.

Radiohead said they’re skipping the ceremony regardless of what year it happens

I'm sure Radiohead saying they didn't care turned off voters.

The Cars might be the most average band every to make it.  decent pop rock songs but Hall of Fame worthy? i don't think so.

Nina Simone is the only one worthy of inclusion IMO

I am super happy about Sister Rosetta Tharpe. She deserves more attention.

Ooooh you do NOT understand the Cars influence on music at the time!  "The Cars" is still one of the best albums of the 80s and it was very influential on rock at the time.

Bon Jovi FINALLY gets recognized by the Hall?!?  Never thought I'd see this.

Now where is Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc, etc...

Yeah, it seems like any more all you had to do is make x number of records and be around y number of years and you're in.  Doesn't matter whether or not that band added anything special to the music or that you were even necessarily a rock band.  The RRHOH is becoming more like a museum form of "The Encyclopedia of Popular Music".  Instead of RRHOF it should be called TEOPM.

Except for Bon Jovi I could not name one song from any of the other inductees.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

Dire Straits got a bit old for me fairly quickly but that first LP was killer and some of Knopfler's work with other artist (like Bob Dylan's Infidels) is excellent.  Had I voted, I'd have given them the nod by an edge.
