RSD Black Friday 2017

The Bob and Doug was from the first link that was from a previous RSD

I've been meaning to find a decent used copy of the Bob and Doug album...
The only thing that stands out to me is the Poncier vinyl....
Last Black Friday RSD I couldn't really find anything at my local record store (and this is a store that does a pretty good job of real RSD). I wonder if the 2nd RSD is slowly waning?

It’s never been a huge day. This year seems to have better stuff than previous years.0
-
Just as shitty as every other RSD list.0

Damn it! I just clicked on the first link. Now I'm sad.dankind said:
Silly canuck! You fell victim to Ron Burgundy's hijinks! You're looking at last year's list.northerndragon said:

I looked at that list 5 times and still haven't seen this listing.northerndragon said:Need me some Bob & Doug Mackenzie.
FWIW: I picked that up last year. If you're nice to me, I'll let you listen to it.
I'm never nice you know that. I still think you should let me have it, just because.Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.0 -

There is nothing on this list that I'd need to be first in line for. I'll stroll up an hour before and grab what I want. Those print numbers are pretty lofty on some of the albums!2-feign-reluctance said:The Fleet Foxes and Ryan Adams are in my sights - hoping to get first in line again next month!
music fans, seeing flippers from STL & KC in town trying to run their small businesses, doughnuts, coffee, cold weather! Worth it! Haha!www.cluthelee.com0 -
I do like chatting with people about music. I'm always curious as to what someone else is buying. As for flippers? They make so many of them now that there isn't any room to flip unless it's the Grateful Dead. They can make 5000 of something but when it's sold out it goes up!2-feign-reluctance said:

Besides DMB I don't think any past RSD releases have increased in price, which I love! I can pick things up now at random if I want.

I'm definitely down for a few things, but I'm not gonna go out for them. I'll buy them online (Its BCS day so I'm gonna try to track down Bourbon County instead, as I do every year instead of RSD:BF).
Wanna get that dave and Tim box, The Neil reissue (excited its spread out over 2 LPs, vs the 1 of the original), the Four Tet remixes of Madvilliany, and maybe the U2 7".

Any help with the Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds would be greatly appreciated.0

Not sure if you know or not but it will be available in black after BFRSD. I do like the colors myself.garland09 said:Any help with the Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds would be greatly appreciated.Alright, alright, alright!

Eh, it won't be impossible, but it will take some effort and many people will end up empty handed.

My store only ordered one Dave & Tim. He says anytime he orders more than one box set, he's not able to sell it. He ordered two Poncier though, on my request. Didn't even know what it was until I told him, lol.0

Man I’m jealous. The place here in town gets like 20 of everything and it all sells. For regular rsd I’ve waited from 3am and I’m like 15 people back before. So tired of that crap, I’d like to just buy what I want to buy and be done with it!disilluzion said:My store only ordered one Dave & Tim. These last few RSD's my two shops have had everything I wanted whether it be a DMB release, LCD soundsystem, PJ, Bowie, whatever. It's been there and I don't line up at 5am anymore. I go when the doors open an hour before.RoleModelsinBlood31 said:

Most people aren't going for the same things which is crazy. I see more people clamoring for GD stuff than anything!0 -
Yeah, but when they order only one, I have to be there at 5am to get it. The owner knows that I'll buy one, but can't guarantee anyone else will. And in MN, where the weather in both April and November can be unpredictable. It's always fun though, chatting with others in line. It goes quick usually.
But I can't complain when I can be first in line at 5 and you are 15 back at 3am! If it were that early here I would either line up the night before or just check the Bull Moose website the Monday after.0 -
Theres a handfull of things Id be interested in for this years RSDBF, but if I missed them all, I dont think Id care overly much. Ive really started only focusing on things I havent heard before, rather than just a vinyl re-release, or something old in a new color, or pic disc, etc... Helps thin the want list pretty quickly...
Last year I was able to go to the record shop and pick up everything I wanted, except the Alice In Chains, on Sunday. No fuss. Charlotte '96

First RSD here in KC after going to so many in Portland and Austin over the years. Looking forward to it even if there’s nothing I’m itching to get. Will be fun to go with my brother in law; that lives right across the street from a great KC store!I LOVE MUSIC.

I agree. The price of the Red Rocks set stagnated pretty quickly and LiveTrax 5 is still readily available in stores. I think 2,500 copies were available of each and this release is 3,000; so although I want it, I’m not making a big stink about spending the day in line.tempo_n_groove said:0 -

Walked into store at 8am when they were allowed to start selling the RSD titles. Had everything I wanted except Preservation Hall which I replaced with Cheap Trick Xmas. Should have my head examined for paying 16.99 for GCJr single, but I have all of his stuff and I’m kind of a completist. I may go back this weekend and grab the other 2 Poncier 12” colors if they still have them.
