Take CPR and know your exits.

And remember to say "thoughts AND prayers".

There is absolutely nothing else that can be done.

One of these we have the ability to regulate and legislate. The other we do not.

  • Trump: "We have a lot of mental health problems in our country, as do other countries. But this isn’t a guns situation," he said. "Fortunately somebody else had a gun that was shooting in the opposite direction."

I'm not surprised by his response, but why does he have to qualify everything he says (when he says as do other countries)? And if other countries have a lot of mental health problems too... why do they not have mass shootings as well?

Everyone knows the answer to this unless they are willfully ignorant or just a flat out moron. So if you are resisting meaningful change at this point... quite frankly... it's because you love your cool looking weapon more than you love the idea of safeguarding church goers or school children or movie watchers or concert watchers or...

Concerts and churches seem to be the new target of choice for these events. College and school shootings are starting to decrease because of the safeguards being taken to make it more difficult and limit casualties. It took almost 2 decades to get to the point schools are at, so what steps are even feasible for a concert or church? Obviously no one is going to address the gun issue, so we better start coming up with defensive solutions.

Churches will need to adopt the run, hide, fight approach. Mandatory viewing for entire congregations.

After that shooters can move on to grocery stores and shopping centers. Maybe even state and county fairs. The possibilities are endless!
    It's a hopeless situation...

I bet there's some mass shooter who's currently considered a responsible gun owner planning his church event right now and cussing this latest guy out: "For gawds sakes. You just had to go shoot up a church right before I was gonna go shoot up a church... didn't ya?"

So he was kicked out of our well-regulated militia, but still allowed to bear arms?

I hate to put the bad vibes out there, but I've been expecting a major sporting event to be a target soon.

I didn't understand after the Vegas shooting and still don't understand after this one. What is wrong with saying your "thoughts and prayers" are with the victims?
Even the anti-gun liberals use that phrase.
No one has ever said thoughts and prayers will solve everything or bring the dead back, and this forum is acting like that what every gun owners has said. I just don't get the attack on people using that phrase, especially since he's been said by pretty much everyone on both sides of the gun debate.
  • Seeing how Trump can assess someone’s mental state without examining them or being a trained, licensed professional, I guess we can take the assessments of Trump that have been offered by trained, licensed professionals at face value?

It is an empty and meaningless gesture that makes people feel absolved of the obligation to actually do something that has an effect on the real world.
In a case like this, where the people who were killed were actively worshipping and praying at their time of death, it rings extra hollow.  Frankly, it's insulting to the intelligence and dignity of the human race.
