there is still no indication that Trump himself was targeted by wiretapping; the report leaves open the possibility that a conversation with Trump may have been swept up in the Manafort tap, but we have no indication that it was.JC29856 said:

I added this part because it's important. Paul Manafort had a private residence in Trump Tower. So it's rational to think that the physical tower had a tap in Manafort's residence. But that doesn't mean Trump, his private residence or his business residence were tapped, with him being the target. I apologize that precision of information doesn't fit your agenda.JC29856 said:

I would say what Comey said was exactly that, a "definite or clear expression of something in speech". it was pretty damn clear to me. not sure why you are focusing so headstrong on semantics, is what this boils down to.JC29856 said:

Lets back up here, I made 1 single post about Comey inserting the phrase "directed at him" in his response to Schiffs question. I thought it was peculiar to add that phrase whenHughFreakingDillon said:

1. trumps tweet never claimed the "wire tapping" was directed at him
2. the same point it made without the phrase "directed at him" included (see below)
"With respect to the president's tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets, and we have looked carefully inside the FBI,"

Nothing found
- then why is Mueller allegedly threatening Manafort with indictments?

James Clapper
CLAPPER:But I will say that, for the part of the national security apparatus that I oversaw as DNI, there was no such wiretap activity mounted against– the president elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his campaign. I can’t speak for other Title Three authorized entities in the government or a state or local entity.
TODD: Yeah, I was just going to say, if the F.B.I., for instance, had a FISA court order of some sort for a surveillance, would that be information you would know or not know?
CLAPPER: Yes.
TODD: You would be told this?
CLAPPER: I would know that.
TODD: If there was a FISA court order–
CLAPPER: Yes.
TODD: –on something like this.
CLAPPER: Something like this, absolutely.
TODD: And at this point, you can’t confirm or deny whether that exists?
CLAPPER: I can deny it.
