What I can't figure out is the box set price. All the reissues (or originals for BS and LB) are $20-25. Why is the set of 10 $350?
Ten - 20
Vs - 25
Vitalogy - 30
No Code - 30
Yield - 25
Binaural - 25
Riot Act - 25
Pearl Jam - 25
Backspacer - 20
Lightning Bolt - 25
Box -45
Yup. If it's $295 separately, the. You'd think it be about $250 tops as a bundle and not an extra $55 on top of the retail. Seems completely pointless to me, surprised they sold a single one.
if they sell out and anyone still interested just let me know. I'll sell it to you for $350 and buy it all separately myself. I'll even include my receipt so you know it was purchase through the 10c, since that's what the COA is for anyway0 -
Not to mention I have no desire for the box itself if it's anything like the 10 or VS deluxe boxes. Just fancy cardboard that takes up extra space on my shelf0

So if I currently own 2009 Ten Redux set, 2011 Vs. and Vitalogy reissues, OG Backspacer and Lightning Bolt, and this year's No Code and Yield reissues, would there be any reason, outside of a certificate, to buy the complete box set vs. buying the empty box + these new releases of OG Ten, Binauaral, Riot Act, and S/T? Are the other albums going to be the same versions I already have, or new cuts/better in any way? Important to know so I can decide if I want to spend $130 vs. $350. My primary concern is getting the best sounding releases available.Osaka, Japan (2/21/95), San Diego (7/10/98), Las Vegas (10/22/00), San Diego (10/25/00), Las Vegas (6/6/03), Las Vegas (7/6/06), Los Angeles (7/9/06), VH1 Rock Honors (7/12/08), Ed Solo (7/8/11), Ed Solo (11/1/12), Los Angeles (11/23/13)0

They probably sold the empty box because they know how upset people would be that the box was only limited to 500 and they thought it wasn't worth it to read 3,000 posts about how unfair it was of 10c to limit the box to 500. Instead, they will have people complaining about how the price difference. No good deed goes unpunished.0

Im glad this wasn't super limited because I must have spent 45 mins adding and subtracting things in my cart. I ended up buying an empty box and 4 singles (Nothing as it seems and Light Years originally never had proper sleeves and made very little difference to the postage cost, Save You and WWS were never on 7" so definitely wanted them). There's no way the LPs will not be available cheaper here in the UK. I'm well aware though I've just paid $100 for a cardboard box which is distressing but Im just going to fill it. All my reissues are official Euro pressings, does that mean I should fill the box with Euro reissues. I guess if being a PJ collector was easy it would be boring.0

The shipping cost of the 10 albums purchased individually makes up for the other $50 i.e. The box set is discounted as one item.Bridge Benefit 1994, San Francisco 1995, San Diego 1995 1 & 2, Missoula 1998, Los Angeles 2000, San Diego 2000, Eddie Vedder/Beck 2/26/2002, Santa Barbara 2003, Irvine 2003, San Diego 2003, Vancouver 2005, Gorge 2005, San Diego 2006, Los Angeles 2006 1 & 2, Santa Barbara 2006, Eddie Vedder 4/10/08, Eddie Vedder 4/12/08, Eddie Vedder 4/15/08, 7/12/2008, SF 8/28/09, LA 9/30/09, LA 10/1/09, LA 10/06/09, LA 10/07/09, San Diego 10/09/09, Eddie Vedder 7/6/2011, Eddie Vedder 7/8/2011, PJ20 9/3/2011, PJ20 9/4/2011, Vancouver 9/25/2011, San Diego 11/21/13, LA 11/24/13, Ohana 9/25/21, Ohana 9/26/21, Ohana 10/1/21, EV 2/17/22, LA Forum 5/6/22, LA Forum 5/7/22, EV 10/1/22, EV 9/30/230

Does the EU LB sound better than the US, or are you just variant collectors?Pittsburgh, PA September 28, 2005 || Washington, DC June 22, 2008 || Barstow, VA May 13, 2010 || Seattle, WA August 10, 2018 || Dana Point, CA September 29, 2018 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 28, 2019 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 25, 2021 (EV) || Dana Point, CA October 1, 2021 || Dana Point, CA October 2, 2021 || Chicago, IL August 29, 2024 || Pittsburgh, PA May 16, 2025 || Pittsburgh, PA May 18, 20250

who willing to spend $350 on this doesn't already own at least half if not more of the collection?
Im only missing Binaural in OP, and have reissues of them all (with the exception of the 3 just released obviously). Still, I probably would have gone for it anyway for about $225 just to do it.
i imagine they could have sold thousands doing that and made 10 times what they're going to off this limited 500. They probably limited it to 500 not knowing if any would sell.
even shipping considered, if you own 1 or 2 already, and I'm sure everyone interested does, it's not worth it. Are that many bad at basic math, or that many just willing to throw money at anything labeled Limited to 500, even when it clearly isn't because you can all the pets individually (for less).
I just can't figure out business wise why they did it, or why anyone bought it.
what am I missing?0 -
