List of bootlegs where a full album was played....

Agreed. I was lucky enough to be at the 10 show in Philly. The energy in that arena when when Stone started Alive was one of the best moments I've witnessed at a show.pjhawks said:
i always thought it would be a bit hokey to play a full album but I was lucky to be at Greenville for VS and Phily II for Ten and both just blew me away. I think it's better when not announced as opposed to announcing it ahead of time like U2 and the Joshua Tree. I can say of the 27 PJ shows i've seen there has never been a more chilling and exciting moment when they kicked into Alive at the 4/29/16 show pretty much confirming Ten. Just typing it gave me goosebumps again.BEnglish017 said:I have never been to a full album show but I can imagine there's some sort of excitement when you hear track 1 and 2 in a row. I wonder at what point will the band decide to play like the first 5 tracks and then stop playing anything else from that album to just mess with everyone.
I'm fine with them playing full albums on tour because you never know when it might happen, and like someone else mentioned, you still get another 20 or so songs. I imagine they're not going to make a habit out of it, but you know, every few years, if they did it on random occasions, I'd be cool with that

I definitely think that being part of the audience to see one of these would be way better than the bootleg experience."It's best to live in grace before you're forced to." EV- 10/09/20140

I was in Greenville and I have to say it was hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen, from any band, and I've seen The Grateful Dead with Jerry 14 times, Rush, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, WSP, James Brown, Neil Young... none of those shows compares with Greenville Vs.
I get that doing a full album doesn't seem spotanious, but the genius is that Ed and Co. don't tell the audience in advance, so you hear the fist song, Go and you think, Awesome..I love this song." Then they play Animal, and you say, "Wow, that's two from Vs. in a row...whatever"
But then they play Daughter, and there is this magic that starts to creep in and the crowd starts to sense something special...
When they start Glorified G, it's like watching a pitcher throw a no hitter... and you say to yourself, "THIS IS AWESOME! We are all so lucky, are they really doing this??"
Yes... a full album show is amazing. Go back and listen to Greenville and try to imagine that you DON'T know it's a full album show...Post edited by BlackCircle onI'm like a tab0 -

True about every show, pretty much ever.0 -
Moline and Milwaukee have been two of my most listened-to boots in the last 3 years. I love the full album shows! In Hampton last year, they played Brain of J then Faithfull... and it didn't hit me til about halfway thru Faithfull "holy shit, are they gonna play Yield again?!" and I got super excited. One, because it's my favorite album. Two, because I've only ever gotten like 6 songs from Yield. Three, because I was not expecting it and thought "here's something I've never experienced at a PJ show."
Unfortunately, I Am Mine was the next song.

I was able to see this tours three album shows and when the first note of Daughter started I knew they were doing "Vs". Go / Animal back to back is not that strange, but Daughter following them that early in the set, I leaped into the air and lost my shit.Chasing Footsteps said:I believe the fact that they play full studio albums substantiates their variety of unpredictable set lists.
Ten and Binaural were unbelievable as well! Strangely enough looking back "Ten" was probably my least favorite, although I loved it, they play many of those songs regularly. They kind of messed up Garden, and Ed was so emotional during Release (which was great in it's own way) but he was unable to sing some of the song, and Oceans was played the day before so it didn't feel as rare.. just my thoughts...
All in all I love the idea of the album shows!Post edited by steved on1994 - Pensacola, Miami, Atlanta - 1995 - Milwaukee, Milwaukee, New Orleans (Tickets to Phoenix, Las Cruces, Austin, Shows Canceled) - 1996 - Randalls Island, Randalls Island, Charlotte, N.Charleston, Ft. Vitalogy. San Diego. West Coast turn. Maybe Europe gets a Riot Act. My guesses.Jed said:What full albums will be played in 2020?0 -
My guess is none because Vitalogy has some oddities, I don't see them doing the new album in full, and the rest of the albums don't seem great to play in full.Jed said:What full albums will be played in 2020?severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31
