EPISODE DESCRIPTION
“Isn’t It Ironic?”
The
‘90s was a decade of great musical diversity. Genre begat subgenre to
appeal to nearly every musical taste. Grunge, alternative and indie rock
claimed dominance. The focus of hip-hop migrated west with gangsta rap.
Country music exploded commercially as artists like Garth Brooks and
Shania Twain began selling out stadiums and the Nashville Network (TNN)
hit the airwaves. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Oasis and the Foo Fighters
surfaced as some of the most influential rock bands of the era. Alanis
Morissette, Sheryl Crow and Lauryn Hill displayed their unique voices in
songwriting and performance. Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre,
Notorious B.I.G. and others elevated hip-hop to the mainstream.
SERIES SYNOPSIS
