I think 12 deaths have been linked to. Five officials are charged with involuntary manslaughter. And I think two officials are in Gov Snyders administration.Halifax2TheMax said:

Hey what's the water situation in flint? I haven't seen anything on the news in a while.FoxyRedLa said:"As an act of terrorism"
I work in downtown Flint. They're "thinking" this is not a threat to the Flint community.

There are still pods set up to distribute water and the contract was extended to 2018. However they are having trouble staffing them and for sure will in Oct.
It will take years to replace all the pipes. And residents have been told they can drink filtered tap water.
I had both my kids tested for lead because I was prego with both after the water switch in 2014.Oh please let it rain today.

With an expensive filter you "should" be ok to drink the water.FoxyRedLa said:

In SoCal after the Northridge quake they told us "not to drink the water if it was cloudy".
We all piped up and yelled "the water was ALWAYS cloudy!". So I wonder what we were putting in our bodies even before the quake?!?0 -
            Sorry Off topic.
Any more on the stabbing? Only one officer?0 -
Yes tempo. There were complaints of the water color and awful smell. But it would appear the officials did not respond....??
And nothing new about the stabbing. The dude will get 20 years or longer if there are more charges. And we're all just paying attention in case there is another attack to follow. I think jail time is heftier when you attempt to kill a cop or related profession right??Oh please let it rain today.

Well he's spot on with the first point. Too bad about that last part though. Violence begets violence, unfortunately, not that it should.FoxyRedLa said:I hear ya unsung. Apparently it was explained at a press conference he hates USA. He said we killed people in Syria and Afghanstan and that we'll pay.

Thought processes people use to justify violence is interesting. In this case, the federal government being portrayed as an enemy; something that will eventually destroy the country. Other examples: They steal people's money and force kids to be on medications.unsung said:

The reality isn't important, it's the perception of the terrorist that matters. A terrorist will say these things happen, despite the facts, process, or rationale.unsung said:So they don't?0 -

I'm not quite sure what you're saying here Go Beavers. I feel like Timothy McVeigh's reasons for the Oklahoma attacks are very well documented and clear, and he has never wavered on the reasons he's given. But also, all of his actions in years and months and days leading up to the attack seem to confirm that his stated reasons for murdering all those people were very sincere, however misguided one might think they are.Go Beavers said:

True, his reason's were clear, but his perception led to his justifying the violence. He had to create an enemy in the federal government to carry out his actions. I mentioned it in here recently, but Bin Laden also had similar motivations.PJ_Soul said:

Yeah, the violence was obviously not cool... but right or wrong at the end of the day, his perception of the issues seemed pretty rational ... just like they do for most terrorists at the end of the day, if you really think about it. I mean, religion isn't rational at all, but the real life issues that fuel most terrorists have a basis in truth most of the time, from their perspective.Go Beavers said:
