We are opening a new it's not a tour rumor thread

It's definitely Metallica on Monday. Nothing to see here. I'd be very surprised if we get a tour this year. There are absolutely ZERO credible rumors at this point. Unfortunate, since they could have capitalized on the RIRHOF publicity big time. Sometimes I wonder if they actually use a professional marketing firm at all.Post edited by vedpunk on0

Really though do they need the publicity? It is hard enough getting tickets as it is lol.vedpunk said:It's definitely Metallica on Monday. Nothing to see here. Totally agree. Play ten shows before Barclays so they are firing on all cylinders then play ten after. This country has been begging for an extended tour since 06! (Not that twenty shows is a lot but we are talking about one of the greatest live bands ever who refuse to play live.)vedpunk said:It's definitely Metallica on Monday. Nothing to see here. Did I miss something?
According to this website they did 25 shows last year.
I saw 6 of those shows.
That's a lot for a band that "refuse to play live"

I would rather they play 15-20 shows a year than 70 every three years.0

And I saw them four times. 25 shows last year and 11 the year before. I d hardly consider that touring. They haven't played more than 35 shows in a year since 2006.Bentleyspop said:

Obviously they don't refuse to play live, but compared to other Arena/Stadium sized rock bands, PJ tours are pretty small and not very widespread. Even when they were doing 70 shows every 3 years, that was still pretty light compared to other bands. Other than the first few years, they've never exactly been a band thats heavy into touring.
It's understandable. The longest I like to be away from home is about 3 weeks, and then i'm jonesing to be back home. I can't imagine being on the road for month and months and months on end. Maybe it's why PJ has longevity it does. They've figured out how much they like to tour without all turning on each other0 -
they would tour more if they needed the money. that's all i'm saying about that.0

i know...reality sucks.
if the band members had multiple ex wives or a cocaine habit like john entwistle had then we would see them tour a lot more. just saying...0 -
