We are opening a new it's not a tour rumor thread

This is simply untrue, as I've noted above. Internally, these arenas have visibility what's happening in their building 12-18 months out. Playoff time is the only gray area, even then a single-team arena can book limited dates with permission (though they may get moved like PJ in Toronto for the Raptors.)Holland said:
There are no shows booked at any arena until the schedule is made up for its existing sports teams. Check any major arena right now and there is nothing from September on. The times that this does happen is when they announce a tour in May/June and they have a whole year of sport teams scheduling to work around. There is no way the NHL and the NBA are going to work around concerts to book their schedule as they come first.Ryan said:
This has nothing to do with how shows and tours are announced. Look at any arena in North America, there's often shows announced 6-12 months in advance, often prior to hockey and basketball schedules getting announced.JRDAY89 said:
NHL announces their schedule in late June. NBA in August. Really hope we don't have to wait that long to find out about a potential fall tour.Holland said:My guess is this is what has happened and is going to happen. They planned on a 2017 summer Euro tour that has fallen through for whatever reason. They also have planned and are still planning a west coast NA tour but are waiting on the NBA and NHL 2017-2018 schedules to be made up before they can do so. This usually happens in May/June. My guess is we will not see anything like we did last year on the holds of venues due to the teams having first dibs on dates over concerts.
With all Pearl Jam tours over the past decade, there are usually 3-4 months of rumors prior to the tour announcement once they start putting holds on venues. There isn't going to be a surprise announcement, there will be many leaks and rumors before it is announced. Until that starts, there isn't much point in checking this thread unless you want to read, "I really hope Pearl Jam plays ______ city".Post edited by bbison onIs this where the show list goes?

Speaking of the map, is it working properly for anyone else as far as tracking what shows you've been to? I thought I'm listing everything in the right format, but it's just completely determined to mark down London, UK on the map for me instead of London, Canada 2013.2003 Clarkston MI #2 | 2004 Grand Rapids MI | 2013 London ON | 2014 Detroit MI | 2016 Toronto ON #1 | 2025 Nashville TN #20

Agree, the sports teams have little to do with the planning. I dont think the concert map means anything. We usually hear things before the announcements. Right now.....crickets. Sit tight.0

Lottery for the stadiums ended January 25th last year. At this point last year, we were all aware of the tour and submitted our lottery choices.wbutler29 said:Stadiums lottery was in Feb last year. Give more notice for large venues as need and expect more travelers than regional arena tour. Sounds like wrigley's dance card if full for 17, but there are plenty of others available. I prefer arenas, but beggars can't be choosers.

I stand corrected. My map now works. I entered my shows into Google Maps long ago.CopperTom said:

Weird when you go to the site specific to the arena they have nothing for those dates booked. Thanks for the correction as I was always thought and was told that the teams come first no matter what. I had no clue there were some exemptions.bbison said:

I don't mean to nitpick but I just checked my emails and the lottery for the arena shows ended and we were notified of the results on the 25th of January and the stadium shows on 8th of February.chitownp76 said:

Hoping if there is a west coast leg this year, they hit up Houston as well. I realize we're not west coast, but damn, it's been forever since they've been here0

2 airports, arena or outdoor amphitheater, good weather, good food, pretty women, etc. Houston would sell out two shows easily.Blacksheep76 said:Hoping if there is a west coast leg this year, they hit up Houston as well. Mine is off. It's missing St. Paul, MN which I attended, and has me down for Charlotte, NC which I've never been to in my lifeBV84003 said:Speaking of the map, is it working properly for anyone else as far as tracking what shows you've been to? Thank you! That was the problem with my map as well. For some reason they have London 2013 incorrectly listed as Sault Ste. Marie, wtf?. That's not even anywhere close to London lol.pjhawks said:

I guess? Personally I don't usually travel far for shows, but I saw 3 last year. I saw Pemberton which was sort of local, and traveled to Wrigley. Wrigley was definitely an exception to my usual Vancouver/Seattle ways.bbiggs said:

I'm conflicted. They don't play Seattle very often anymore. If they play this year then it'll be years before I might see them again. Being as I only saw them a few months ago in Chicago... waiting until next year helps spread it out a bit moreI guess I'm good either way. It's just that I often see bursts of PJ in this area and then nothing for several years. At this point I'm used to having a few years between shows, so I'm ok with Seattle being next year. It would probably mean they are working on a new album.

I would too. Other than connecting flights in Dallas, I've never been. Would definitely go to a show in Houston this year. I'm traveling somewhere to see them play. Just a matter of where...mcgruff10 said:
