Would love to see them or anybody at the gorge. Had tix for DMB and PJ in the past, but couldn't pull the trigger.
All I hear is that its an amazing experience with the music and the surroundings, worthy of any travel required.0 -
My sister, 3 nieces and a nephew live 20 minutes north of Seattle.....they and their friends are always at The Gorge. They go a lot. And yes, it is a pain in the ass. Every time I've gone we drove back to their place...got in after 3. Very tired, but fully satisfied!my2hands said:I've been to the Gorge... but there is no denying a venue 3 hours away from Seattle in the middle of literally knowhere is a bit of a pain in the ass to get to, especially for a travelling fan base. When I went out in 2005 literally nobody I talked to was from Seattle, including myself.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!0 -

I have thoughts on this. Pearl Jam announced the 2005 Canadian Tour without the Gorge Date. When there's a Vancouver show and no Seattle show a big chunk of Seattlites migrate north for the Vancouver show. You can tell because you bump into all sorts of people from Washington State, and your tickets are significantly further back then in years where they play both cities back to back.my2hands said:I've been to the Gorge... but there is no denying a venue 3 hours away from Seattle in the middle of literally knowhere is a bit of a pain in the ass to get to, especially for a travelling fan base. I went to both, but at the Vancouver show everyone seemed to be from Washington and at the Gorge show everyone seemed to be from BC.. lol!! It's like no one could get tickets to the right show, and everybody traveled.
It was similar in 2009 when PJ announced Seattle but didn't announce a Vancouver show. All the BC fans tried to buy Seattle tickets, and then they announced the Vancouver show after.. ugh (that's the only Vancouver show I've missed in a very long time). I heard from friends that went that it was a complete black hole for Vancouver 10c'ers. Ie not many 10c'ers went. Everyone who did go got really kickass seats (way better than they would normally get) because so many people had already bought Seattle tickets.
That's my thought's. PJ had that period where they were announcing tour dates inconsistently and it made travel plans and ticket purchases a bit difficult. I think the '09 tour was the worst for that. The last few tours have been a lot better where at least they've pretty much announced the whole leg at the same timeThat's my theory and memories of the events as to why there were so many BC'ers at the show.
To be fair we don't have an amphitheater, so the Gorge is also the closest one for us BC'ers that want to experience a show like that. Well there's the White River Amphitheatre south of Seattle but we don't talk about that when we've got the Gorge

Bump, bump, BUMP it UP
FOR the record there were "locals" there. I live an hour south of Seattle and I was at all 3 Gorge shows with Tenclub Tickets.... ohhh the F5 days how I miss them"Well, I think this band is incapable of sucking."

Weren't those shows pre-F5 days? I don't miss the 10c ticket booth screw up in '06 when I was still in line when they played Wash. Gorge 2017 redemption show. It's happening!SomethingCreative said:Bump, bump, BUMP it UP

Gorge '05 was a bit different on ticket sales. I think it might of been done by lotto (like seattle '02 was?). So lotto to get tickets and then location on seniority. I think I was row 13 dead centre, which at the Gorge feels like row 8 at an Arena. Far better tickets than I had at the '06 shows (probably due to the reduced # of fan club tickets).
I think the 2011 Canadian Tour ended F5. The website completely crashed out. It passed the point of no return. It wasn't like the F5 days where it made the website glitch and crawl. That tour/sale brought the website it's knees.. lol. They used TM to sell the 10c tickets for that tour, and I'm guessing the lottery was the result of that.

The only time I ever had "luck" pressing F5 was for the PJ20 sale. Got my tickets right before the whole thing blew up! Otherwise my face was ripped off for 90% of the shows I was going formfc2006 said:I will never forget the F5 nightmare for PJ20.

I remember getting tickets through the "backdoor" at about 5:30 West Coast time. I came home from work and was like 'I'll give it another shot, what the heck'.mfc2006 said:I will never forget the F5 nightmare for PJ20.
