How many protesters were arrested at Obama inaugurations?

I can't believe all of the Trump supporters were so violent today. Those libs were right to be so frightened. 219 arrests so far. Oh wait....no... it was the liberals that got violent. This again is one of the reasons Trump won. A good part of the country is sick of the bullshit holier than thou left and biased MSM.

Pot Kettle black Breitfart/Infowhores/Faux News sheeple. Not tolerating your intolerance isn't intolerance. Facts have a left of Breitbart/Trump bias. Deal with it, beta snowflake.

Tell me then, what is wrong with saying that you will evaluate the election results after they happen? How stupid is it that the Republicans signed a pledge to support the eventual nominee and then had to back off the pledge when Trump won the nomination?

I don't think it makes sense to made decisions on hypotheticals. I think Jeb Bush should be able to say, "I will decide to support the Republican candidate (if not me) when the Republican candidate wins the nomination." Why can't Trump say, "I will determine whether to challenge the election when there is an election that can be challenged". But instead, the media forces candidates into positions they cannot possibly make a decision on currently.

And by the way, Trump's answer was completely, utterly correct (which doesn't happen much) as borne out by actual events.
let's take a look at who we are talking about. This man has mocked and ridiculed almost every minority group out there. He's got hands that somehow randomly end up on women's genitals. And of course he was put it into office partly at least by the Russians.

Patriotism means loving your country enough to not be afraid of being called unpatriotic for voicing your concerns. Its not just about reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and shooting fireworks on the 4th.

There is clearly something wrong with Trump. no self control. easily lured by beautiful eastern European women in particular. He is weak.

I don't care if you call it the Teddy Bear Parade of Bombers. This divisive naming convention doesn't get anyone an inch closer to solving the problem, yet it produces fear and perpetuates hatred.
its silly. now he can claim he solved a problem that Obama never did. Heres an excerpt from an Obama town hall, 9-28-16. His answer is exceptionally eloquent and spot on.

Thanks for the backhanded compliment, vaggar :) You're right in this case, I don't want to partake in the art of bullshit and that's exactly what I did, so I'm going to watch myself on that front (even though I did preface my post with the disclaimer that it's a shot in the dark). On that topic, there was a great article I read called "Why bullshit is no laughing matter", and it's really worth reading if you're interested (https://aeon.co/ideas/why-bullshit-is-no-laughing-matter).

I totally understand where you're coming from regarding the lazy/arrogant nature at college - I was the exact same. I regularly received high grades in anything Math and Physics related, and same with English courses. When I started my undergraduate in Engineering, I definitely had to learn about self-learning very quickly in order to succeed.. Winging Engineering Calculus wasn't exactly possible anymore (though my writing abilities were substantially better than many of my peers). I guess my point is that society as a whole hasn't done the greatest job of teaching the value of learning itself - the focus is on the topic at hand, rather than the sale of learning as an asset. Something about the "because you have to" argument doesn't really click for many young people (myself included), but if learning itself was pushed as a gratifying/rewarding experience, it'd be much easier to sell. For example, on this forum, I love reading all these varied opinions which make me want to think critically, research, learn more, ask more, discover more. Discovery really gets my adrenaline going, but maybe that wouldn't be the case for someone less curious.
ah, an engineer. see i knew we were brothers from another mother.

i'd say the structure of the grade school environment provided an adequate safety net that kept me from straying into destructive behaviors. The college environment, however, did not provide that safety net and that's when things went awry for me. I came out okay, but with a few regrets, mainly that I didn't try hard enough particularly in the first couple years. The thing is I was probably still trying harder than 2/3 of my peers. Now i'm left thinking that although the university environment is a lot of fun, it's also incredibly inefficient and costly.

I agree that learning is not given value in society. I see this all the time. I understand where it comes from. It takes a certain motivation to realize that you are going to be taken out of your comfort zone for a while and that your brain will probably be fatigued in the process. It's the same as exercise. Its gonna be painful while going through it, but the rewards are great. it gets to be addicting after a while, but the 'addiction' can easily slip into fad status if one is not vigilant.

And yes, I enjoy reading the well thought and even not so well thought out opinions on this form. Its definitely a different dynamic than social media

Today's ceremony however, has very special meaning, because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, DC, and giving it back to you, the people.
For too long, [those in politics] have reaped the rewards of government while people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth.
Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed . The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs and while they celebrated in our nation's capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

That all changes starting right here and right now, because this moment is your moment. It belongs to you. It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America. This is your day. This is your celebration. And this, the United States of America, is your country.
Because what truly matters is not what truly controls our government but whether our government is controlled by the people. January 20, 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction, that a nation exists to serve ITS citizens. Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves. These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public. But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists.
Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities , rusted-out factories, scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation , an education system flush with cash but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge

Meanwhile every product Trump has sold the last 30 years was made overseas... Ivanka Trumps entire clothing line is currently mAde in Asia... and this prick hasn't paid taxes in decades which means he hasn't paid a dime in helping America or its citizens

  • President Trump walks the talk.
the new president also signed into law a new national day of patriotism and signalled plans to build a new missile defence system to protect against perceived threats from Iran and North Korea.

I should have done more research.

In more recent news, less than 36 hours into his presidency, Trump is tackling the issues that matter.
