President Elect Trump

You mean another President who lost the popular vote but won the election? These two inaugurations in question were both extremely divisive and attributed to the polarity of the country. Also, the Democratic wins that Lewis has been in congress for (92, 96, 08, 12) were quite convincing. It's hard to question the legitimacy of those. Well, unless you're a brother or whatever fool would debate those.JC29856 said:
Very theatrical...you have allot in common with Lewis.ledvedderman said:
The OUTRAGE that I have flowing through my veins now. That's the type of lie that's going to destroy our country, not the asshat in chief lying DAILY via a social network. Yes, this elderly black congressman, who had his skull fractured in a peaceful demonstration in the 60's, is where our outrage should lie.JC29856 said:Quandary: do I believe John Lewis or do I believe WaPo? Lying is okay if you marched with MLK? Okay
Boycotting the last two elected presidents you disagree with isn't bigotry or political but principled? Okay
Bonus: "It's almost impossible to work with him"
I will say that I think Lewis should go. It's just the right thing to do. The office of the President demands respects, especially by all members of congress- (Looking at you Joe Wilson) no matter what type of trash got elected is going to be president.0 -

The KKK and trumps agenda overlap. The hatred isn't a clear difference, it's a similarity. White Nationalists and white supremacists are giddy that their agenda has reached the White House.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:
The only difference being that the KKK, by its very nature, is hatred with a very clear mission statement.PJ_Soul said:
How would you feel about bands who agreed to play at the swearing in of the new grandmaster of the KKK or something like that? No prob? Shameful to criticize them?BS44325 said:
You laugh but it is actually quite sad. These artists are all being vilified, getting death threats, etc. for just wanting to play a gig. Most of them are not even political. As somebody who was pro-bush AND pro-bushleaguer I find the constant attack on artists to be shameful. It happens on both sides and it is not a good thing.HughFreakingDillon said:

That being said... I can completely understand why no band wishes to participate in such an event. It's a poopoo platter being served and if given the choice... people don't have to eat from it.0 -
let me make a clarification. of the est 320 million us population, 230-240 million are eligible voters. Approx 43% of that 230-240 million cjose not to vote for one reason or another.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:
You're suggesting most of the apathy rests with the intelligent and moral people?mickeyrat said:
estimated US population 320 million. 62 Million voters voted for Trump. not half by a long shot.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:The comedy is kind of over for me. The situation has moved from being hilarious to being pathetic.
I'm sure there will be plenty more laughs at the orange one's future follies, but the real issue is the fact that it would at least appear that half of the US is either flat out stupid or morally bankrupt. How else do you choose to vote for such a slob (no need to state his negative qualities here... they've been well documented to this point)?
If you're of the stupid variety and gal darn it... ya just wanted to make America great again... I can understand. If you're not stupid... then wtf man? Hilary was far from fantastic, but let's be honest around here: Trump was obviously way worse and he's proved so each and every day.
I'll direct you to the beginning of Chap 21 of The Peoples History of The United States by Zinn. Speaks directly to your question about the general voter. without meeting with a wide array of said voters, I cant state as you did to their intelligence or morality. Fact remains the nonparticipation rate is growing both voluntarily and unvoluntarily.
As one very small sampling we can look to the general belief shared by Unsung and his reasons for not. Cant say I fully agree with the choice, I think I understand it a little better now._____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

while I find Trump's comments on Lewis completely objectionable and unprofessional (not to mention false), it really is unfair to even bring Lewis' history into it. Just because he is a civil rights hero he is above criticism? and all these comments about "and on MLK weekend of all times". so the fuck what? Trump was responding to criticism. he didn't pick the fight.

no, it goes to show you that people are weakening their cause by false outrage. if he had been attacking his past as a civil rights advocate, that is viable. you can't argue that trump is anti-MLK because he crticized a congressman for things that have zero to do with civil rights.Halifax2TheMax said:
