Russia's Influence On The American Election

Even if the intent isn't pure, I hope the action can lead to proper non-partisan cooperation on saying no to foreign intervention, which should not be tolerated by winners or losers (independent of the level of convenience/inconvenience). Sometimes it's necessary to appeal to people's inherent greed by showing that an action serves their self-interests, even if the true motivating factor is something different.unsung said:

I'll clarify, we know that Russia Russia Russia influence gets thrown in the mix with Snowden, Assange, wikileaks, Syria, Assad, Brexit, Trump, US election, now the German elections. That doesn't mean it's a non issue it just means to me proceed with caution.PJ_Soul said:JC, I am confused as to what message your are trying to convey. To me it seems like you are saying that Russia is actually a non-issue for the US altogether, whatever the context....
Now if Russia wasn't revealed to be attacks against Trump or if Hilliary back in Oct didn't bring up Russia Russia Russia hostile attacks to help elect Trump, it may not reach bullshit detection yet.
Furthermore, the word influence raises concern also because it is vague enough to encompass anything, influence how? By hacking Podesta, by breaching and editing the voting machines or by simply preferring a certain candidate?0 -
I would like to see anyone on either side at any level that is shown evidence of foreign intervention in our elections come out against investigation punishment/sanction.benjs said:

Everything has become a partisan issue here. Fewer and fewer Americans on both sides have any interest in seeing the world any other way. It's incredibly frustrating.PJ_Soul said:
The hypocritical left? US interference isn't actually a partisan issue. I should think that anyone with any sense of right or wrong would be disturbed about Russian interference in the election no matter who had won. If anyone is hypocritical here it's the right. We all know that they are approving of things right now that they would be having shit fits about if the election had gone the other way.unsung said:

Trump had been whining the entire election about rigging from the left. now he won, and now rigging never existed.

If Russia Russia Russia wasn't used as a partisan scapegoat pre-election (it certainly was), it wouldn't still remain a partisan issue.Post edited by Free on0 -
You mean if it wasn't Russia Russia Russia potentially working to undermine Hillary Hillary Hillary. Some of us can look past that. Some of us can't.Free said:JimmyV said:

It affects Trump too and has been since pre-election. A very partisan issue, and yeah Hillary pressed it hard too. Each used Russia Russia Russia to their advantage.JimmyV said:

Trump was accusing the voters of rigging the election. Millions of people voting illegally, which is patently false. For Trump to suggest the election was rigged in this manner is a threat to our Democracy.unsung said:

This is systematic rigging in the form of voter suppression, broken voting machines, gerrymandering, voter purges, foreign propaganda, domestic propaganda. To ignore this, or deny it is happening, is a threat to our Democracy.
This is not hypocrisy, it's actually quite consistent. If anyone is being hypocritical, it's the Party of Reagan who is so quick to defend Russian intelligence services' operations on American soil.
And somewhat telling, that the Russians were more afraid of a Clinton Presidency, than the repeatedly Indebted Donnie with numerous ties to Eastern Europe and Russian "business associates"...and that the "appearances" of collusion and corruption was enough to convince some voters that Hillary was corrupt, where ACTUAL corruption and ACTUAL bribes paid out by Donnie and company, those were just...the cost of doing business?0 -
So all the pro-Russia intervened people, what do you want found out?
What is on your mind other than it is currently in the minds of radlibs?

Ideally, we would like to set up a Congressional panel that would conduct a long unnecessary drawn out investigation that spends millions of dollars, ties up resources, and wastes thousands of man hours. In the end, the investigation will likely turn up nothing of any substance. But the idea would be to drag Trump's name through the mud everyday for four years. Scrutinize his every move until the nonstop biased mainstream media coverage drives him insane. Every Republican that flocks to his defense will be permanently associated with Trump. And in four years when middle America's Rust Belt still doesn't have retirement savings, jobs, or healthcare; we can look to those useful idiots with scorn as they cling to their guns and religion and say: "Are you happy now? You got what you voted for, and you got it good and hard."PJfanwillneverleave1 said:So all the pro-Russia intervened people, what do you want found out?

Something tells me this won't happen and this current event is just taking a bit longer to fade away from the headlines that President-elect Trump is always a part of.0 -
