Since you don't think it happened, it shouldn't be investigated or discussed? Ok. Makes sense.
I'm ok with it being investigated. I am also okay with everybody finally admitting that Obama and Hillary's Russian reset was an epic failire. I am also ok with everybody admitting that Romney was right in the 2012 debates and that Obama and all those who laughed at his "the 1980's called" joke were horribly wrong. I am also ok with everybody coming to terms with the fact that even Sarah Palin had a better understanding of Putin then the Obama/Clinton foreign policy team. After all the investigation will have to also figure out how who was minding the store while the Russian's penetrated everything. Was it simply the case of poor cyber-defenses or was there negligence in the setting up of unprotected servers that unwittingly gave access through a back door? These questions will have to be answered and both those responsible for the hack and those who failed in protecting the system will need to be punished.
Because Sister Sarah could see Russia from her porch? Makes sense.

Most of what you just said here is laughable. Especially the Sarah Palin part. Good stuff there.
Which proves my point that some don't really care about Russia's actions at all. It's phony outrage.
No, it doesnt prove a point. It shows you have a warped sense of your political history. And your complete lack of understanding of Sarah palin.
No. The democratic party and the progressives on the amt have been downplaying the russian threat since the 2008 election. McCain and Palin discussed this threat, Romney discussed this threat and most of you just laughed. Now out of nowhere everybody is horrified by Russian behaviour only because of how it related to the election of Donald Trump. The outrage is phony and the hollowness of the progressive concern on this issue is laid out for all too see.

The CIA did not release it's "findings". It's "findings" were leaked and reported on. The "findings" so far don't say that Russia proper "meddled in the election process". That might all eventually turn out to be true but it is not verified to be true right now. Read the Glenn Greenwald link I posted earlier...he is no alt-right reporter.

Ok, so the outrage from the left is hollow & phony etc. I get your point.

What about the Russian threat that McCain & Palin & Romney warned us about? Does is still exist, or did it go away?

Shouldn't we be concerned about an administration that might be very cozy with a govt the GOP has been warning us about for years? Or are we obligated to STFU because the left didn't take it seriously in years past?

The alarming response to Russian meddling in American democracy

Some may wonder if this latest squabble matters. There is no evidence of actual collusion between Mr Trump and Russia. Mr Putin’s fierce dislike of Mrs Clinton, who as secretary of state questioned the validity of the 2011 elections in Russia, is more than enough motive to want her defeated. It is unknowable whether the last-minute leaks of Democratic e-mails affected the result. Most straightforwardly, a close election is over and Democratic leaders are not questioning the result.

This squabble does matter. When the next president of America takes his oath of office in January, officers of Russian intelligence can savour a historic win. And that astonishing, appalling fact has divided, not united, the two parties that run the world’s great democracy. That should be enough to unsettle anyone.

Tina Fey said that but I understand how most of you have trouble separating the two.
Actually, Sarah Palin stated in an interview that physically being so close to Russia was a benefit to her national security credentials and that she was so close to Russia that she could see it from her house.
Tina Fey then mocked the quote.

According to this link, she didn't say those words verbatim:

"The basis for the line was Governor Palin's 11 September 2008 appearance on ABC News, her first major interview after being tapped as the vice-presidential nominee. During that appearance, interviewer Charles Gibson asked her what insight she had gained from living so close to Russia, and she responded: "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska": "

    http://www.snopes.com/Politics/palin/russia.asp

Apparently Tina Fey did coin the phrase involving 'her house'.

Of course it still exists and of course you should still be concerned. This needs to extend beyond hacking though and to Russia's generally belligerent foreign policy. What I take exception to is the people who are outraged by one small segment of Russian behaviour while refusing to advocate for any stiffening of American and NATO resolve when it comes to other aspects. People want to say that the Obama foreign policy was a great success yet what did the Russian reset actually bring? A proper investigation will look at all of this in conjuction with the hacking to determine the best foot forward. People can't cover their eyes to the sale of Uranium One and it's ties to the Clinton Foundation while screaming about hacking from the rooftops. Consistency is necessary and it will be necessary to hold the Trump administration to account in the future.

Facts don't matter. Just more BS from BS. It's astounding BS's ability to spin to fit his altright narrative. Like Obama didn't do anything to stand up to Putin. Anything short of full on invasion and military conflict is an abject failure in BS's world view. And his ilk are now in power.

Yup. That's me. Or just a really terrible memory for a 34 year old.

But that's the point as well. What has become accidental common knowledge through the passage of time has done a great deservice to the formulation of current policy. Palin, in her simple way of speaking, was making note of an aggressive Putin back in 2008. She discussed this om the campaign trail as well and the left just made fun of her. It was just so hilarious back then. Romney brought it to the forefront again in 2012 and Obama "dropped the mic" with his oh so funny "the 1980's called" joke. Now the joke is on all those who are all of the sudden outraged by Russian behaviour.
  • Yea and a Trump administration that wants to withdraw from NATO is a better alternative. Your spin is just that, spin baby spin.

It is certainly concerning but if Trump's position eventually results in NATO members increasing individual contributions along with recognizing that a strong US presence in the world is a force for good then it will turn out to be a brilliant play.

    The outrage is so phony.

I agree but some truly are outraged and those are the deranged ones.

Do you have anything to add to the thread, aside from your empty derision?
This person NEVER has anything to contribute except empty derision

    Best to just ignore

    Ignore.
    Such sage advice.
Ignore Donald Trump is what they said, just ignore him, he'll go away.
