Off He Goes changed lyric interpretation

Okay, so I know that this may be strange, but for quite a long time now, I don't hear Off He Goes as Off HE goes. I hear it as Off SHE goes. Obviously I know Eddie sings He, and I love the original meaning of the song, but if you just change He and any male prefix to she, the song in my mind becomes a sad but beautiful love song about a guy who loves a girl so much that he waits, even though he knows she needs to disappear sometimes. It makes the last verse even more powerful to me, especially the line "he's off again" I really got started thinking about this when a month or two ago I had to write an essay (I'm a college Freshman) over how a piece of media has changed your life. I was able to rattle 1,234 words on this variation in my mind of the song, and I figured this would be as good a place as any to share! P.S. I got a 90% on the paper : )
