I'm surprised the cure isn't in the hall as well.
Also, do we as fans get to vote the band in?

they've started giving fans votes a few years ago. That's when Kiss first got in. But it's probably like 5% of the vote
Cool, thanks for the info. I voted this morning.

What a rip. I thought we'd actually find out who won today. So we simply now know that Pearl Jam is an option, which was an obvious given? Lame, lol.
    Voting now open at https://www.rockhall.com/vote
You can cast one vote per day until December 5th.

The shocker for me was that NIN was not even nominated

Imagine an induction ceremony with PJ, NIN and RATM. That would've been insane.

I'm still astonished De La hasn't been nominated.
30 years, 9 GREAT studio records(when most record labels limit rap artists to 2 and through status), the first fan funded record in history, hardly ever cursed
    yet
NWA = 2 records (one suxed), 3 years together(only 2 wit Cube), lotsa swearing

That was twenty years ago. I think the band has changed a little bit. Knowing pj they ll be beyond humbled and somehow make it seem that they aren't worthy of the rock n roll hall of fame.

I really like NIN... although not so much that I can't say that I wonder if they didn't get nominated because a lot of their stuff sounds kind of the same, especially the newer stuff. Which reminds me of this hilarious video... it's funny because it's kind of true! And it is indeed still very awesome. ;)

I really wish I could find the obscure clip of this interview Eddie did where he says he totally regrets doing that at the Grammys. He basically said he was already pissy because he'd had a run-in with some security there who wouldn't let him smoke inside or something like that, plus he was kind of drunk, and that's why he acted kind of like a dick (his opinion). I just very randomly landed on this clip a few years ago, and haven't seen it since, and haven't yet found anyone else who also saw it, although I know they must be out there somewhere. It was pretty old. It was probably from the late 90s or early 2000s?

I am kind of naive with this whole thing but what is the induction ceremony in New York like? Are there performances or is it just an awards show?

I got this from Rolling Stone(You can vote ther too. Not sure if it counts with this https://www.rockhall.com/vote ), about what drummers will be inducted:

In a change of tradition, the Hall of Fame has announced the individual members of each band that will be honored. Pearl Jam have had five drummers, but only current drummer Matt Cameron and founding member Dave Krusen will be inducted should they make it in.

Here's the link to the whole article : http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/hall-of-fame-pearl-jam-tupac-shakur-yes-lead-nominees-w445147

that's the fan vote. It's a small percentage of the whole vote. But I think it helped Kiss. That's when they first introduced fan voting

So proud that PJ's time has come, but still can't believe that Trent Reznor is not even nominated. Green day being in the Hall and not Trent Reznor is an embarrassment

Huge congrats to PJ. I've been voting! Those ceremonies are always so nice, they're a treat to watch. And in NYC this year, as well! Of course, I learn that the ceremony is during when we are planning on a family vacation. Now I have to choose!

Lots of pros and cons to each, actually. But I kinda feel like an awful person because this choice is so hard?

Sweet. I think I've decided to stay home from this vacation for a few reasons, so hopefully I'll be able to score tix to the ceremony.
