CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's website has confirmed the nominees for its Class of 2017 will be announced on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
The site has added a section for the "2017 Nominees" that says check back Tuesday at 8 a.m. for the announcement. There are no other details. However, many expect the announcement to be made first on Rock Hall partner SiriusXM's new VOLUME radio channel, which premieres on Monday.
This year's newly eligible acts include Pearl Jam (a heavy favorite), rap icon Tupac Shakur, PJ Harvey, Alanis Morissette and more. Other previous nominees expected to receive heavy consideration are Janet Jackson, Chic, The Smiths, The Cars, Nine Inch Nails, Sting, Kraftwerk, Yes and The Spinners.
Those nominated will be voted on by living members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame along with a voting group comprised of historians, journalists and critics. The inductees will be announced later this year and honored at a ceremony in New York City in April.
Cleveland.com will have full coverage of the announcement, along with an interview with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation CEO Joel Peresman.

Definitely in: Pearl Jam fans might as well save up to book their trip for next year's ceremony. The band is the one lock to earn induction into the Rock Hall's Class of 2017, following the trend of other monster 1990s rock bands like Nirvana and Green Day. Perhaps even more so than those bands, Pearl Jam fits the mold of a proper Rock Hall Ceremony headliner, as all of its member are still living with little to no drama between any of them.

Weekend Rock Question: Who Should Enter Rock Hall of Fame in 2017?
Cast your vote in our weekly poll

This year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony happened just a week ago, but we're already thinking about next year. Artists that began their career in 1991 will become newly eligible, including Pearl Jam, P.J. Harvey and Tupac Shakur. There's also artists that began their career long before 1991 and have yet to get in, and that's quite a long list.
Now we have a question for you: Who should get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year? Feel free to vote for a newly-eligible act like Pearl Jam and Tupac Shakur, a long-overlooked band such as Devo, the Cure and New York Dolls, a hip-hop act like De La Soul or a Tribe Called Quest or one of the many progressive rock bands still waiting, like Yes and King Crimson. Vote for whatever act you want just as long as their first single or album came out in 1991 or sometime earlier. Please only vote once and only for a single selection.
