Wasn't the propaganda then used to track consumers of radical materials in efforts to weed out the radicals? I haven't looked into this deeply yet.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0

Yes. It's actually kind of a clever idea.... well, not anymore I guess, now that everyone knows it's being done. What am I missing? Why have I now seen this posted as though we're supposed to be bothered by it, and as though it's scandalous? I guess I can see how this might lead to innocent people being investigated in the name of stopping terrorist groups... but I have yet to actually see anyone claim that reason as to why they think this is wrong....rgambs said:Wasn't the propaganda then used to track consumers of radical materials in efforts to weed out the radicals? With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
Wasteful, bloated contracts handed out in the early stages of the Iraq War? I'm shocked.0

Well how well did it work? I haven't actually seen anything stating that it didn't bring results, or anything saying that it did. Maybe it was wasteful, maybe it wasn't (or maybe I can't see the whole article posted, although I did read another article about this a couple days ago).
I dunno, are people really supposed to be mad that the US military tried some covert intelligence gathering operation that cost a lot? Isn't this just SOP for the US military? I'm sure if anyone bothered they'd find much more wasteful shit like this to get their panties in a twist about. $0.5 billion in a $600 billion budget isn't exactly something to write home about. I was under the impression that people are having a knee jerk reaction to the simple "the US paid to have jihadist propaganda made" without even really understand the context of it. That, or people don't quite realize how the US military spends money like it's going out of style.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
