What are your thoughts?
I prefer the sound of the mono remasters.
I have been listening to The Beatles a lot recently. I used to not be a fan, funny how things change as you age.
What are your top 5 albums?

Mono for sure. The stereo mixes are pretty terrible, especially if you listen to them on headphones.
Top five, in no particular order : Revolver, Abbey Road, White Album, Sgt. Pepper and Let it Be.If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0 -
Mono because they were mixed for mono at the time of release (up until the last couple albums). Stereo sounds great too though.
My top 5 Beatles albums are to me the top 5 albums ever made:
1- Revolver
2- Sgt. Pepper's
3- Abbey Road
4- Rubber Soul
5- The Beatles (white album)

It's a shame the mono albums are not sold individually. Only stereo remasters are. I can't afford $200 for the mono box set right now, I would if I could.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140

They have been sold individually. I know because I only have Revolver and Sgt Peppers.

I thought they were offered at one point, but I'm not sure because I got the whole set through mP3 when they were first released.Thoughts_Arrive said:

How does this mono boxset sound on CD?www.cluthelee.com0

Mono 45's are my favorite way to listen to The Beatles- probably because I grew up on them that way.
As far as albums go, my favorites:
1. Revolver
1. Rubber Soul
1. Yesterday and Today
1. A Hard Day's Night
2. Abbey Road"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

By all audiophile review... its the best way to listen to the Beatles catalog.2-feign-reluctance said:

Just picked up the sealed Japanese import for $80 off eBay. I read up that the US, UK and Japanese ones are legit. I did have a moment of panic hoping I didn't buy the counterfeit one, but the UPC on the photo the seller took matched the UPC I found on Discogs. I had no clue these were 'limited edition' boxsets. Sounds like it gave way to some really terrible Chinese fakes - which I also saw on eBay for $30 a piece. Yikes!www.cluthelee.com0

You are correct. There are no mono versions of abbey road or let it be, they were recorded and released only in stereoThoughts_Arrive said:Am I right in saying that Abbey Road and Let It Be are the only albums the Beatles recorded in stereo?

I got an email from PopMarket.com back on September 20th. They had the Mono CD Box Set on sale for $99.98 for a 24 hour period. I thought about it but I couldn't pull the trigger.3/22/94 Cleveland, OH

What's the best way to tell if you've got a counterfeit? Serial number? Need to check mine when I get home I guess.0

There are a ton of videos on YouTube and DQ on the Steve Hoffman forums that all point to the same 4-5 issues that confirm it's a fake.bflynn1 said:What's the best way to tell if you've got a counterfeit? Serial number? Need to check mine when I get home I guess.
