What are everyone's thoughts on why the lyric
"Can't be what you want because I'm ..."
Is not finished? I have my own theories but I'm curious what everyone else thinks about this.

    I think in the context of the song (my own interpretation, of course) - people / strangers / fans writing to Ed, laying their heaviness on him, viewing him as a fucking messiah...everyone wanting a piece of him when it's supposed to be just fun. He can't, couldn't, be everything to everyone, hence taking their entrance back.

    Can't be what you want because...he is himself.

    I like that.

    I always kind of thought maybe he left it unfinished to allow the other person to fill it in with how they perceive him.

    I always tend to fill in the line with "Can't be what you want because I'm... me."
    "Somewhere in between / There and here / I got lost / I got scared..."
