It's not his fault that his print was head and shoulders above the others. I'm sure when they ordered 6 posters they thought at least 3 would be good but they got 1 that almost everyone seems to think is the best. I love mark5 s an artist but the Thomas is the only one of the 6 I'd frame.

Ames had a great idea with the Topps theme and then ruined it with that image. All they had to do was have the band in baseball uniforms and people would have loved it.

If that was 100% accurate. Then why did Steve first say on the 2nd, that there would be only 100 AP's for sale Monday the 8th at his website? Then on 5th he said there would be 100 variant AP's and 300 regular AP's then the 100 AP's he stated on the 2nd.

I know I'll be keeping my cash in my pocket on Monday because of the increase. And he'll still sell them all out to people trying to flip them. I'll wait and buy one of evilbay for less then the original cost. Just like a lot of AP's done this year.

No idea why he would say any of that since I do not know the inner workings of whatever deal he has with PJ for this run. That said, I would be VERY surprised if he cut a deal with them where he kept the rights to his artwork and was allowed to determine himself how many APs he would make/sell with their name on it. I would find it hard to imagine (pun intended) that he increased the AP run by 200 and added a variant of 100 all by himself in the span of 3 days. It's possible he misspoke at first, or maybe was only speaking of the variant run, or perhaps he had only originally planned to sell 100 of the 300 but then decided to strike while the iron is hot and make as much money as possible. Who knows.

Nope, non of us know the legalities. All we know and hear is hearsay. Like I said before, I'm happy Steve is making some good money off the AP sells. But with the prices of the regular prints dropping like a rock. You'll be able to pick up a AP for less then cost from a flipper if your patient.

For me, the Ames stuff tends to be my favorite as there's a thread in the design that goes back through each tour to the earliest years. Maybe it's an old fan vs. new fan thing. Or analog vs. digital...those designs tend to pop even more in person. It's just a bummer when people see a merch booth cell phone pic and declare it a "dog" on the spot.

Does Ames usually have variants? Also....why would they be the ones selling the cards?

They do. I'm not sure on the trading cards. It wasn't mentioned in the newsletter. But if you click the link it say's posters & trading cards. Either they are selling packs, box sets or some of the images images used in the set will be available in a limited edition variant poster run. Like the Jeff, Stone & Boom artwork.

Friend asked me a question earlier about the Thomas AP sell tomorrow. He saw on FB that it was limited to one. Does anyone know if it is one regular and one variant per order? Or just one or the either? Didn't seem clear he said, just wanted to know if anyone has heard or knows anything, so, I can let him know.

The caveman could be a nod to Johnny Damon

Anyways I hope the variant of the Jackalope poster is a completely different image

The bat on the green monster poster is signed by Moe Greene. Am I missing something or is it referring to the guy from The Godfather?

For the people going after the Thomas Fenway AP. I sent him this e-mail earlier.

    "Hello Steve,

Are we going to be allowed to buy one of the regular and one variant as well of the PJ Fenway print? Or is it just one or the other tomorrow? I saw where you said limited to one, was just curious if it was one of each, or one total.

    Thanks in advance."

And he sent me this back.

"Thanks for asking, I think I'm going to limit to one total. I'd like to give as many people as possible the opportunity to pick up a print.

    Steve"

Just a heads up, for the ones that will be trying for both versions of his AP.

Thanks! I like the regular edition much better then the variant on this on. If there were some more added modification added to the variant like the numbers on the scoreboard was different that would be a treat.

He should probably clarify that outside of an email to 1 person. I'm sure lots of people will be trying for both.

    update ..

    SteveThomasArt .. 7 minutes ago

!!!Some have asked if I'm limiting to one of each, I'm going to limit one design per person. I would like to give as many people as possible the opportunity to get a print. Thanks!!!
Update on the #PJFenway print. There is a regular version and a variant (red color to orange - I couldn't change the green, amiright??).
Both will go on sale Monday, August 8 at 12 p.m. (noon) Eastern time. Instead of auctioning off one this time, I'm going to dedicate a portion of the proceeds to a charity. Not sure which one(s) yet.

Follow the link for more information.
The actual image links will change once the sale is live, but the page link will remain the same.
If you are going to either show (or both) have a great time (I'm jealous).
    Thanks again!
