Pearl Jam ringtones - bad idea!!

They ruin the songs.

I used to have Given to Fly as my ringtone on my old phone for a long time. I haven't had this phone for almost 2 years. To this day when that song starts, my very first instinct is that my phone is ringing. Even in concert, it is the first thing I think of. It's terrible. I will never do it again.

    Very true - I had Given to fly as my ringtone but its too much. Whst ive done now - edited down Master/Slave to 30 secs and its a PERFECT ringtone. Geek - I know, PJ fan - always.

    this is true. I used to have Daughter as my ringer when my dadd called. EVVVVERY freakin time he called me, we would argue cuz we were in business together. NOW, i do NOT like hearing daughter cuz it reminds me of him bugging me!!!! :D But EVENFLOW.....i cant get enough of!

    i edited jones beach daughter to have the 'its ok' riff as my message tone :D

    no 'cos the room next to mine had 'blood' as an alarm tone for about a year before 7 in the morning :D

    I've had Porch as my alarm for two years. It hasn't ruined the song for me, and i've heard it live a few times since then and I didn't think "Oh no, it's time to get up!"

    So I disagree. :p

    My ringtone is the generic ringtone that was programmed in when I bought the phone.

    I still hate answering the phone.

    My default ringtone is Jeremy, my alarm tone is Given or Even Flow and my text tone is the first 8 seconds of Gremmie... it certainly hasn't ruined any of the songs for me! Disagree! :p
    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    I used to have given to fly forever, could never ruin the song for me. On my new phone I have life wasted, puts me in a good rockin mood every time i answer the phone :)
    Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

    I love Pearl Jam ringtones!

    "Given to Fly" is my "answer" tone that people hear when they are waiting for me to pick up. It used to be my ringtone for the longest time but I currently have "Forty Six & 2" for general incoming calls, "Breath" if my kids call me and "Ledbetter" for when my husband calls me (he loves that song).

    ha, the same reason why i got rid of my PJ ring tone.

    i used to have i got ID, and it was slowly ruining the song for me!

    it's so easy to get sick of a song if you have to hear it everytime your phone rings.

    I made my own ring tone of the unplugged version of SOLAT and no matter how many times I hear it, it will never get old. :)

    Now, if only they would play it live again. ;)

    i have had Given To Fly as my text alert for nearly 4 years now...

    every time it goes off it makes me want to hear the song.

    when i hear the song i never think of text messages...

    Lukin's perfect. Had it for years now.
    You get about 10 seconds of guitar to answer before your phone goes insane.

    I have a few PJ ring tones in my phone but my favorite is the instrumental music that plays a few seconds after the end of Inside Job. Love it.
    The beginning of Severed Hand and the lead up to the chorus in the instrumental acoustic Given To Fly are in heavy rotation too.
    I'm not sure how to create a text tone though - for an iPhone. If anybody cares to share how, maybe via pm, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

    My ring tone for calls is Dirty Frank. For texts, I use Given To Fly, and for picture messages, Smile.

    Sometimes I don't want to answer when it rings & when Captain Hi-Top screams at me, I don't answer until I hear Andy say, "I am magnificant" :clap:

    Oh yeah, I forgot, you were discussing PJ ringtones...that would just be too much for me, need to breathe to enjoy :-)

    (and if I don't impost limits on my pushing PJ, people do it for me :lol: )
