    The family flew home in time to catch the fireworks on July 3--stupid town doesn't know that Independence Day falls on July 4. And I grilled no less than 10 lbs. of chicken on Independence Day and drank way too much beer while doing so. Fuck today in its peehole!

    Any drunk rednecks in your town blow off any appendages over the weekend? (Always my favorite 5th of July news items. :lol: )

    If you have children in school, when do they start back to school this year? (My daughter's summer break was cut by 2 weeks so that they can return on August 16.)

    Aug. 31, but she just got out on June 24. Seems short. But then again, I'd like that kind of break.

    Annoying: tourists. But they keep the local economy rolling, so necessary. Annoying and not necessary: the drum circle that happens in the center of town every Sunday afternoon during the warm months.
