The Warriors didn't need Durant. I hope it helps them though.

Does anybody else see the Warriors changing their style of play? Largely enough that it makes them worse?

It will only enhance their style of play, hence why Vegas just installed them as huge title favorites. Durant plays the same position as Barnes only at a WAY higher level. It takes a ton of pressure off Curry and Thompson making them fresher in the playoffs. Go back and look at how many wide open shots KD got for Roberson and Waiters by posting or driving and kicking out. Those wide open shots will now be going to the two best shooters in the league. The biggest problem now is their frontcourt depth is bad. A team like San Antonio with Gasol or Memphis could create some problems for them. With that said when they now go small it's going to be insane. Their small ball line up was one of the most efficient ever and they just added a top 5 player to it.

welp, I now hate the warriors.

I thought you hated them way before this...Or do you hate everyone and just hate the Warriors extra lots (I can relate)?
no, I didn't hate the warriors before. I half liked them but, being an Ohio native, I was rooting for cleveland. then, the warriors got kind of sulky, so that made me dislike them a bit.

that said, the list of teams I "hate" (in all sports) IS pretty long. if you are based in LA, you go to the top of the list.
If I had known then what I know now...

Being a Cleveland native, anything Pittsburgh is at the top, along with the traitorous Ravens. But the Warriors definitely got under my skin this year. This will worsen it.

KD was a FREE AGENT. He can go where he wants, just like LBJ or any other player in the NBA.

It's a little bizarre going to the team that just beat you in 7 during the conference finals. Why not find that one player to get you over the top? Doesn't make sense.

Nothing bizarre to me. Not when he's a FA. I don't think what happen during the season/playoffs, has anything to do with a FA's decision of where one want's to go play. 2/$54 MIL to go to a team that has a great chance to win the Championship, makes no sense?>LOL

It makes good sense if a player such as KD who wants to win a great probability to win a championship. The only issues could an injury and when you join up with other mega stars it weakens a teams bench. The team has to rid itself of players to make room salary wise to take on the new addition. I still can see Cleveland beating them once again barring any major injuries.

How many 4th quarters did Curry sit out this year? If he wasn't fresh for the playoffs, he'll never be.

This is free agency. I don't understand why people are so mad. Nobody burned Karl Malones jersey when he left Utah after 18 seasons.

It just seems weak to be on easily the second best team in the West, the one that went 7 against GS, and go join the best team.

It will be interesting to see where they get rim protection with the cutting of Bogut.

I agree SOMEBODY on this team to be has got to play defense that other than DG. I wish them well, I still think the Cavs can beat them.

What's so embarrassing? Because GS beat them? So what? I'm sure KD is far from embarrassed

People were pissed at Lebron leaving Cleveland because of aaaaaalllllllllll the drama surrounding "The Decision." Not to say it was all Lebron's fault, it certainly wasn't. ESPN needed ratings.

I'd be pissed if I was an OKC fan especially after he supposedly said it was 90% he would re-sign with OKC. Good chance he opts out after next year too once the cap goes up again so could be a 1-year thing with Golden State

    hmmmmmm living in OKC

    vs

Living in Bay Area with a new arena a few years away??

I think that played into this decision.

I'm not gonna hate on him, its just a different generation of player/mentality. Guys this good wouldn't stray, they would have others join them where they were at.

Wade may be joining the Cavs if they can clear the space. He's quite unhappy with the Heat.

Colin cowherd made a pretty good point earlier. Jerry west went into the discussions with KD with 2 stats:
    1) who has the most shots in the NBA where the defender is within 2 feet of him? Kevin Durant.

    2) who has the most shots after 7+ dribbles? Russell westbrook.

Translation: Durant gets no open looks while Westbrook gets the free ride off Durants greatness. Why not come to GS where you will get all of the open looks in the world?
