Showtime's "Miles To Go Before I Sleep" doc features Pearl Jam crew. June 28 2016
Showtime's "Miles To Go Before I Sleep" is a short documentary chronicling the true story of famed musicians and the relationships they have with their roadies. Features music legends Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters) and Jim James (My Morning Jacket), who speak candidly about their time on the road and the importance of the crew who work tirelessly to put the show together, as well as capturing a day behind-the-scenes with the crew of Pearl Jam.
Hope they include this in 1080p on the Roadies Season 1 Blu-ray release. Only online stream I found on this is in 720p, so far ..
I tried to do my own rip from youtube (like the source for the online version). It was only posted on youtube with a max of 720p :( Hopefully a better version comes out. Maybe from bluray or itunes/amazon or something people can easily rip
I quite enjoyed the documentary though. All the roadies love what they do, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Kind of weird
That bit where Liz and her husband (Eddie's guitar tech?) are sitting together, sheesh, so awkward and uncomfortable. "Uh, we fell in love". Sorry, that's not my only take away from this but man. I'm not saying it wasn't genuine, because I don't know shit. It just came off as really awkward.
alot of familiar faces and a couple of friends in the video!!

Cool doc. Having worked in that industry for a couple years as part of a local crew albeit. The days can be very long and i can attest that these guys work their fucking asses off.

First of all, thanks for the tips for us "foreigners" I've watched the doc last nigt, really enjoyed it. If you deeply love music it has to be a very gratifying job, but - man! - so damn hard...

Haha. I found the penis collection to be awkward. Serial-killer awkward. haha.

Yeah, me too! (I actually "oooh-ed" during the romance moment... )

Interesting. I just took it that they were exhausted--the clip was filmed during a long work day during the tour. I imagine they were tired and thinking about all the stuff that needed to get done still. Just a guess.
Pearl Jam’s stop at Rupp Arena featured on new Showtime series
Showtime just debuted a new scripted series called “Roadies” starring Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots that tells the story of a group of roadies on a major concert tour. To celebrate the premiere, Showtime also released a short documentary about real-life roadies that features part of the Pearl Jam crew on their stop in Lexington at Rupp Arena back in April. Included are a lot of shots of the backstage areas at Rupp, so if you’ve ever been curious what those hallowed halls look like, have at it:

Interesting watch. I'm surprised the band has a hard time not having more than 5 dressing rooms.
Well, there are 6 with boom. I'm sure they all want some space with family and friends. For a venue the size they typically play, 6 dressing rooms should be a simple request. I'm not being argumentative, but I toured for a living for a while, and even small theaters can typically accommodate 5 dressing rooms.
I watched the first two episodes. I liked it. It will take time to really really get into it, but it's interesting. Very different from anything I have seen. It's a glimpse into a world I know nothing about. I love the PJ references of course and I am stoked to see what happens.
