    To all, my brother's intestines were swollen after surgery (did not eat or drink for three days after appendix removal). Had the second operation yesterday and the intestines are back to normal size and they stitched him back up. Now he is resting comfortably and hopefully eating and drinking again.

    If there are no setbacks, doctors will discharge him home either Tuesday or Wednesday. Only question is what caused his intestines to swell up. He is doing much better and he'll have a scar story to tell and show us.

    Until he is discharged him, would love to have you continue to have him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks all

    My brother is now fully awake, still in some discomfort after getting stitched up, but doing well. Little bugger keeps wanting to get out of his bed and walk by himself even though he is in pain.

    Now he can eat soft foods and drink water along with going to the bathroom by himself. Doing much better, but is being monitored for a few more days before being discharged home, perhaps later this week or early next.

    Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers until he leaves the hospital.

    Update as of today, June 2. My brother is now drinking more water, eating food will be a challenge since he hasn't started that yet. Getting nutrition from an IV. He can now walk around and go to the bathroom by himself.

    Doing very well in rehab, but still a ways to go for him. Appears that the health professionals will discharge him sometime this weekend or early next week. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers until he fully recovers. Thanks to all for the support and kind wishes.

    My brother is doing a lot better, no more tubes stuck in him. He is starting to 'eat' some food, soup broth from what his doctor told me (about time). Drinking lots more water and walking around more with less pain.

    He will still need some rehab to get his strength back, but his doctor said that if he keeps this up, will be discharged either Monday or Tuesday. Strength is coming back, since he wanted to walk after his second operation a week from this past Friday (tough bugger).

    Keep the thoughts and prayers for him, I appreciate the board's support for my brother.

    Final update, and thanks to all who offered their prayers and thoughts for my brother who was in the hospital recovering from gangrenous appendix removal surgery.

    On Tuesday, my brother was released from the hospital. He is still weak, but is now eating small amounts of solid food. He has a followup visit with his doctor in two weeks, and my family is hoping that it is the last doctor visit for a long while. I would like to ask all to keep praying and thoughts for my brother until he is back to complete health. He thanks everybody for your support and love.
