    ^^^ I can only imagine the plane would be left on auto pilot if everyone was unconscious. What would cause that? Carbon monoxide? Some other gas in the ventilating system?

    PUT ON autopilot. Does that happen manually or by a certain default?

    Actually, in re-reading the article, I think it (or whomever "wrote" it) is full of shit. I mean, who the fuck is this Truss person?

    Cabin pressure loss. You only have a few seconds to get an oxygen mask on before you pass out. The golfer Payne Stewart was on a private plane when they lost oxygen pressure was lost and everyone passed out. It continued on for several hours before running out of fuel and crashing. A fighter jet was shadowing it in case it appeared to be headed for a populated area.

    The plane was traveling at 519 mph, and the director of Greece's Civil Aviation Authority, Konstantinos Lintzerakos, said air traffic controllers were in contact with the pilot as the plane passed through Greek airspace and that the pilot did not report any problems, the AP reports.

    While they were in contact with the pilot, Greece's civil aviation department said the he was "in good spirits and thanked the controller in Greek," after he was cleared to exit the Greek airspace, according to Reuters.

    Controllers then tried to make contact with the pilot 10 miles before the flight exited the Greek Flight Information Range, but the pilot did not respond. Controllers continued trying to contact the pilot until the plane disappeared from the radar, Lintzerakos told the AP.

    Ehab Mohy el-Deen, the head of Egypt's air navigation authority, was quoted in The New York Times as saying that Greek air traffic controllers had told their Egyptian counterparts they had lost contact with the plane. He said: "They did not radio for help or lose altitude. They just vanished."

    Now they say they haven't found it. I think they should find it within a week considering the roughly know where it was when it vanished, unlike the Malaysian flight.

    About 10 days left before the Egypt Air black box stops sending signals. You would think that they would be able to find it since they know the relative area where it went down.

    No wonder they never found the Malaysian Air black box ...

    I read through that article and all the comments and it has occurred to me this plane will remained one of the world's all time mysteries. Which makes this tragedy even worse.

    I also read in a different article that the pilots airplane simulator at home showed that he was practicing this run out into the Indian ocean in the weeks leading up to the planes disappearance. That was kept kind of hush hush early on for some reason. So, it's not really a mystery what happened anymore. Pilot suicide. The only mystery is where exactly he put the plane down. Let's just hope he killed the air supply to the passengers so they didn't see their fate coming like in that other plane that was crashed into the mountains.
