What if it ends up being fanboy Adam Levine? :fearful:

I would not have an issue with that. He's a fan, just like the rest of us.

They have always had other musicians do the inducting
Almost always. Chris Rock inducted the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Flea inducted Metallica, so maybe the Hall of Fame decides, hopefully the band has a say
I pretty sure you're right about this. James Hetfield said he was surprised to see Flea up there.

More often than not it's a someone influenced by the inductee (Ed inducting The Doors, Neil Young, REM, and Ramones, Aerosmith inducting Zeppelin, Tom Morello inducting Kiss, etc.) so I'd expect someone like maybe the guy from The Strokes to do it. But then again, sometimes it's a peer. Jimmy Page inducting Jeff Beck for instance.

And speaking of Chris Cornell, how the hell aren't Soundgarden in the Rock Hall? I mean, I guess if Iron Maiden can be overlooked then anybody can, but still.

I would think it would b Cornell, a peer, over Neil. But I don't think it would b either. Someone hit it when they said it would probably be someone influenced by PJ, like The Strokes' Julian Casablances, or Yim Yames

I don't really care either way. Both would be good.

Chris Cornell would be my choice. He did a good job inducting Heart.

unfortunately, the Hall chooses who inducts without any consideration to who the act wants to induct them. it's stupid.

my vote would be Dave A, coming out with a plate of waffles.

first of all, the RRHOF sucks and makes no sense at the best of time.

second, in my opinion, while I do love them, Soundgarden are not what one would call a groundbreaking band.

Not exactly true, Eddie inducted The Ramones, I am sure Johnny had something to do with it

George Harrison was inducted by fellow Traveling Wilbury's members, that wasn't some random decision

Well I definitely don't think they're groundbreaking either. They're like a depressing version of Led Zeppelin (just as Van Halen was like a party-version of Led Zeppelin). But they're definitely a great band. If being "groundbreaking" was a prerequisite to getting in, not many people would get in....including....probably....Pearl Jam.

I would think the hall would learn from the Steve Miller / Black Keys debacle and let the bands have a say in who inducts them.

I think they deserve to go in first ballot. Especially if Green Day and Nirvana got it in the first try. But there are many respectable and big artists who haven't gone on first ballot. Or are not even in.

Serious question: Do we think they care? Not about who would give the speech, but about actually being inducted.

I don't think they are losing any sleep over whether or not they will get in, but I do think they will consider it an honour if they are inducted.
