:D that must be a first.

And dunk, we don't mind that. But of course it depends on who's doing the interviewing ;) actors... so fickle!

But in fairness, if them lot are gonna claim a little girl in a green dress who's name is Irish for freedom... English... well we're damn well gonna claim the Irish citizen with an Irish dad LIVING in Ireland if we so choose :D

    :D:D
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

i see Daniel Day-Lewis calls himself British though :)
His dad was born in Ireland, his mum somewhere in the UK and he was born in London, so I guess he's both.

    i know this ;) he has dual-nationality

but he was on telly last night/this morning on some interview thingy and he called it a "win for british acting" or something like that .. i cant remember full phrase but basically alluded to his Britishness

very good read that!!! even has the Irish reporter saying:-

As for Day-Lewis, strictly speaking he is English, of Irish extraction. He grew up in London with an Irish father and an English mother; however, his father, Britain's Poet Laureate Cecil Day-Lewis, brought him on holiday to Ireland regularly and he developed a love for the country. He has a home in the Wicklow hills, holds an Irish passport and has dual British-Irish citizenship.

Yep, you've got the greatest bollox of all, but hey... Meany, Murphy (two films that one could name)... you're digging deep there. Neeson (Narnia) .. what has he done lately? Brosnan... when was the last 'hit' movie he did (guess nothing noticeable after James Bond). Though I do have a soft spot for Gabriel Byrne.

As I said.. not much going on with Irish actors. Only a couple really... others.. has beens! :D:D:D

Huh? Murphy, the wind that shakes the barley, intermission, breakfast on pluto... at LEAST! And that's not mentioning his 'big' ones like sunshine, 28 days later, the batman ones... which I haven't seen. He's pretty great actor actually.

Meany's fantastic though... Kings was almost up for best foreign film at the oscars this year, it was Irelands nod anyway. The commitments, the snapper, Intermission again are some of his greater roles.

Brosnan? Ya never seen the matador? That was since Bond and was a great film. Neeson hasn't done much since Kinsey (didn't he get an oscar nomination couple of years ago for that?) and he generally doesn't do much anyway but when he does it's notable.

cillian murphy is barely known.. as for Colm Meaney... most people would struggle to remember his name.
