Coldplay Speed of SoundAgain, didn't have to think twice. Sorry PJ. I do not like Speed of Sound - the vocals sound weird, and not good weird IMO.
Speed of Sound is one of Coldplay's best. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
Pearl Jam Speed Of SoundI like coldplay.
But lyrical content takes it for me.Oh please let it rain today.

Pearl Jam Speed Of SoundI think Coldplay is an OK band. I have seen them live and wasn't that impressed.
In regard to the song I don't think it's the best song for either of the bands, but like FoxyRedLa said the subject matter for Pearl Jam's Speed of sound is better in my eyes. I think the song works better live as it is then striped from O'Brein's ego. It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

It's almost as if they couldn't think of any original song titles when they wrote Backspacer!0

Pearl Jam Speed Of Sound
Well there are alot of songstitles that have been used by different bands.rummy said:It's almost as if they couldn't think of any original song titles when they wrote Backspacer!
The ultimate example being Chris Cornell sings One from Matellica over the music of One from U2.It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

Can't recall if I have heard it or not, but I really dislike the song quite a bit (I pretty much hate all of Backspacer), so I don't think the demo's going to change my mind.igotid88 said:

Of course. I' m just indirectly making reference to the similar thread about Supersonic.karmadefect said:

Since you mentioned U2 I can't help but add that both them and PJ have a song called "Gone"...and Pearl Jam has "Breath" and "Just Breathe" while U2 has just "Breathe."

Thanks! Yeah, that's certainly a lot better, but I still don't like it.igotid88 said:PJ_Soul said:

I haven't heard all of those songs by U2, but I reckon at least Gone and Breathe will win from their opposite. It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
