Serious question on how not to lose your voice after a concert.

Title says it all. I plan on singing my ass off at the next show in Quebec and have to work the next day. Is there anything that I can do to prevent this from happening? I googled it and all I got was what to do after you get laryngitis.

    Too bad so sad. Ha.
Good to feel the vibe that a refreshing Canadian date will have with Pearl Jam.
They can't wait to get here.

Ya I work out in the field and need to talk into a radio and communicate with others. They are not going to understand a word I am saying. LOL

Take a pack of cough drops with you and eat them during the show. The trick is to keep your throat well lubricated. :giggle: I get the halls that have 2.7% menthol (compared to the 7% or 9%) usually flavors are honey (NOT HONEY LEMON) strawberry or cucumber. There's watermelon flavor now too. Bags are about $2-3 at Duane Reade, security won't give you shit about it.

I'm actually kicking myself at the moment cuz I forgot to bring them tonight. Again.

This is what I was looking for. Seems so obvious too. Thanks for the advice.

Loquat syrup. find it in an Asian market...it's magical stuff.

:lightbulb: Record your screaming on your phone, then turn your phone up and play the screams between songs. Then just don't sing the songs too loud...

Holy shit I forgot about those! I used to pack them in my lunch when I was in school. Teachers always thought I had wine coolers.

It must be a sign. My wife brought Halls home from the grocery store and they are black cherry flavour. There already packed away. Thanks for the advice again.

Earplugs. They make your screams sound louder, so you can dial them back a bit.

I too will be following the cough drop advice. What's worse than no voice for work? No voice for singing at the next show!

It just happens once in a while. Nothing you can do. Got pretty into the MSG1 show and couldn't even sing last night.

Think about when you are in a loud bar, and how you yell to talk, and by the end of the night you are hoarse. Just sing/"yell in tune" like you do in the car. You lose your voice because you try to hear yourself over the rest of the crowd and the band. If you just belt it out like you would at home or in your car, you can last all 3 hours, and be able to have a good conversation on the ride home.

The ear plug idea is also a good one.
