    Another story where the truth is hard to ascertain.

    If the guy was swinging his bat at the cop like a madman... then fire away. There are people suggesting he wasn't though. The grandmother took a bullet that passed through the 'madman' while she was watching the event. This accidental death doesn't seem to be disputed.

    Regardless of whatever happened... the lawsuit is ridiculous. Just as ridiculous as many of the other ones from victims' sides (where the estate of a definitive criminal killed while being a criminal seeks a fortune for such).

    Yeah, until more evidence comes out about the shooting who knows how it went down. But the fact that the cop is suing the kid killed is crazy.

    I think it is more a bias.
    Also diminished tolerances based on interactions with certain ethnic groups over a long period of time.They become short tempered ,quick to react in a way.

    Think some of both. Think everyone has some racism in them. Just animal nature. Do feel police have it really tough and if you deal with the worst of any segment surely it will affect ones views.

    Spent two years in low income black neighborhood in city working a retail gig. Small store with direct contact with people and employees. Was the only white person. Called me spot. Was asked to do this to help store with horrible theft problems. I was scared. But did it. I met the most wonderful hardworking people. When gang bangers came in with their gold teeth and pimped out rides, treated them with respect and they did sane for me. So I know there are good and bad of all races and kills me when I hear people identifying someone's future actions due to color of their skin. Everyone is an individual. Treat all with respect and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

    In order to rid our country of scared cops we should make a part of police test training
    have them walk thru a scary fun house filled with black people hiding running at them away from them like a haunted house the cops that are easily spooked by black people should fail. Have the failures then go to career counseling to find them a job that there not afraid of.

    How many cops are shot at by persons of color in a year? I bet 20x the number the other way around.But like the Oscar broadcast,it's ok to just talk about cops shooting black guys without putting it into context.the Pandering white guilt continues.

    You have to bet because those crimes statics aren't kept. Hmmm wonder why. But if you can find the data I would love to see it.
    More cops are killed by car accidents than criminals, maybe you should be angry at cars.

    McManus said earlier this month that Scott was holding a cellphone when he was shot. He said Lee feared for his life when he opened fire.
